Agree or Disagree: Torture is never justified, no matter the situation?

I think we can divide torture into three different categories.
Torture for the sake of punishment to stop future crime.
Torture for the sake of revenge for the victims.
Torture for the sake of extracting information.
First of all, Torture does not prevent future crime so that is pointless. Secondly revenge does not solve anything and the government should not be in the business of causing pain and suffering for the sake of pain and suffering and lastly, torture is ineffective for extracting information.
There is therefore no justification for torturing anyone.
Legally, no. Morally, well... is it ok to torture a war criminal in order to extract information about a planned nuclear strike on a city with millions of civilians?

Most forms of torture don't work.
But torture today is just a ego trip for small minded dipshits.
Torture is a broad term. For sociopaths who commit murder, life in prison is absolute torture and theyd prefer a death sentence. Sociopaths love control and life prison means fifty years of absolutely no control.
So can someone tell me how do you verify that your torture worked?
Torture is necessary if she's been a bad girl.
No, we do not stoop to their level.
