What do you think about paypal fining people for "Wrong thinking"?

So essentially, paypal is fining people 2500 dollars if they have "Wrong thinking".

It essentially means if you are against any liberal agenda, whether it be of the belief there are only 2 gender, against the covid-19 vaccine, believe 2020 election was stolen, area against transgender competing in female sports etc they can take money out of your account without your authorization.

Paypal will take $2,500 from your account if you publicly disagree with pharmaceutical advertisements.

Ellon Musk has come out and even said that he finds said action by the company aberrant and former CEO of the company is disgusted at the direction in which its gone.

I would say that this is CCP level shit but this kinda goes way beyond that. I don't know if the CCP is shitty enough to actually steal money from you every time you do something frowned upon by the establishment (although i wouldn't put it past them), locking you out is probably the worst they'll do.

Even if this is fake, this is a sure sign that we as a society is collapsing if anyone thinks it's OK to even punish people for opinions they get triggered over.

It's Unamerican and probably illegal. They said it was an error and wasn't meant to be in the Terms and Conditions, but I think that's impossible. They tried to sneak it in there hoping no one would read it because honestly, most people don't. It's actually a good thing this happened because many people will probably read the Terms and Conditions of things now before agreeing to them.

Assuming this is all accurate, then yes, I'd find it disgusting. I looked it up and it seems accurate. I checked quite a few sites, in fact. I found out that teh fine has existed for over a year now, but the 'misinformation" part is new.

I think it is f*cking insane, but it's not surprising. This is what banks and money companies, have been wanting to do this for a while now. PayPal did something similar and started deleting accounts of people who were committing "wrongthink" outside of anything related to PayPal, and that's when I deleted my PayPal account permanently. This was like six months ago.

Regardless, f*ck PayPal and stop doing business with them, if you don't want a private company feeling entitled to your money for "wrongthink."

First-off "Wrong Thinking" is bullshit so stop with idiocy. It is very unbecoming. Don't announce to the world that you are an idiot; it doesn't do you any good.

PayPal recognized the wording error in the policy regarding MISINFORMATION (which is not "wrong thinking"). The policy was not yet in force and PayPal has since retracted it.

they have lost customers and over $9 billion on their share price, it should be a warning to other companies thinking of doing similar things, looking squarely at credit card companies and banks.
