If politics and ideology has corrupted the DSM by removing trans identities from the list, what happened when LGB identities and behaviours were removed? Did the politics of the day corrupt us back then? Are gay men still mentally ill? What about female hysteria?

The notion that politics is responsible for breaking down old knowledge of mental conditions while assuming that those older models were framed apolitically is ridiculous. Either politics and the DSM are and always have been entwined, or the DSM is and always has been making an earnest attempt at capturing the Hippocratic ethos to "do no harm". One or the other folks.

Isn't the definition of "disorder"... like... not being in order? A person whose body is not aligned with their mind, strikes me as having a "disorder".

There may be various approaches to creating order for them.

I wonder why they haven't devised a body replacement therapy. e. g. remove the head of one person and switch with another body. Just have to figure out how to connect the spines properly, seems dooable and strikes me as much simpler to create consistentcy as well.

They've just been compromised, is all. Gender dysphoria literally serves no purpose for humanity. That makes it a mutation or mental defect, thus, a mental illness. Not to say SOME of them don't deserve sympathy (the few who are respectful, that is), but it's not "normal" in any way.

Depends on what they mean. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness. Changing gender is one potential treatment.

Everyone lost it at "Gender dysphoria is a mental illness" saying "it's treating it like something fake." No. Treating it like something fake would be classifying it as "hysteria" and prescribing anti-psychotics. Treating it as something real is giving it its own title and having better-targeted solutions.

It's a political declassification not a scientific one. Of course Transgenderism is a disorder. Nature designed humans like every other species... to reproduce. Any deviant behavior that interferes with that is obviously a disorder. If everyone was a transgender it would be the end of the human race.

Being transgender is a mental illness. It’s removed to basically mitigate hate and accept them. If you have another mental illness, like bipolar, your symptoms are separable from your identity. If you’re transgender, your symptom is your identity. If someone tells you that your whole identity is wrong, you definitely feel like a freak and maybe even suicidal. Solution? Telling them they’re ok.
