I was kinda young to grasp the import of the JFK assassination (I was 9 years old), so I was bummed out but not actually affected. But I did follow the news and feel everyone's reactions, so I knew it was a really big deal. Once I got older, I realized just what a big deal it was.
I was more affected by MLK's assassination. I was 14 and already a strong supporter of the civil rights movement.
I think Jimi Hendrix's death has affected me the most. I was a guitarist by the time I began high school in the fall of 1969. In early 1970, a new friend asked if I wanted to go see Hendrix. I had never been to a rock concert before and didn't have much money, so I said no and figured I'd catch his next tour. He died a couple months later.
Hendrix is my number one idol. I regret not getting to see him and it's sad that he left us so soon. He had so much creativity. And I've read that he was becoming more influential in the civil rights and peace movements and could have been a force for unification.
I guess John Lennon affected me, too. I mainly liked him because of his contribution to the Beatles. But it was really cold blooded to cut his life off short.
There have been scores of other deaths that made me sad but didn't exactly affect me. Just the number of incredible musicians, alone, is a lot.

In this order:
Chester Bennington. His voice was full of the rage I’d felt since I was molested as a little boy. Turns out that his rage was because of the same reason.
Robin Williams. I’d grown up with him my whole life. When he died I felt like I lost a member of my family.
Avicii. His music was very moving to me.
They all killed themselves. The thought of someone who made something so beautiful was eaten up and tortured inside to the point where they lost all hope breaks my heart.
George Michael. He's my favourite singer and I just loved who and what he was. He was such a kind man who wasn't ashamed to be himself and have fun even if he was to begin with he over came it and put a brave face on and stood proud.
I always wanted to see him live but I never got to and I feel is death was so sad, lonely and tragic for someone who was loved by many and gave so much love to others he should have died from old age with people who genuinely cared about him around him same goes for Amy Winehouse

When it comes to people such as JFK and MLKjr their deaths caused more national mourning. This question to me asks about a personal emotion. I think the ones that bothered me the most were Rebecca Schaeffer and the Tate-Labianca murders in 1969. I was only 11 in 1969, but I do remember watching this on the news and even later in life those murders still haunt me. John Lennon in 1980, and Dorothy Stratten in 1980 are two that always seemed to me to be a 100% waste. Of the ones I mentioned the one that gets me was what happened to Rebecca Schaeffer.

As a kid I listened to Michael Jackson a lot and when he died I was in middle school. I don't remember exactly how I found out but everything just felt sad. Time had felt like it stopped that day. Kobe Bryant. Playing NBA Live 2003 a lot as the Lakers as a kid which is what made a fan, LA vs Boston was so much fun to watch, his work ethic is unbelievable. I can go on and on. Paul Walker. Where do I even begin? Recently PNB Rock. How I'm 27 and he died at the age of 30
No, and I can’t really relate to people who are. I can only be affected by the deaths of people I know personally or am close to. To me, I’m just a faceless number of a fan to a celebrity so it doesn’t affect me. Even one of my most favorite musicians of all time, Loretta Lynn, died two weeks ago, and all I’ve done was dedicate a week to only listening to my playlist of her songs, but I don’t cry about it or anything.
Not even for a split second. I don't know who they are and I often find celebrities or foreign royalty obnoxious. They are just humans, who have the weak minded flopping around like a fish out of water seeking affirmation
Mmm not deeply but I will say it mad me said when Steve Irwin died, I grew up watching that guy do amazing and crazy things with animals. Also who's the guy in the picture?
Anthony Bourdain. It really got to me.
Kurt Cobain.
Robin Williams. But his was a bit more understandable.
Carrie Fisher.
Nora Ephron.
I was saddened by the deaths of Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Robin Williams, Dustin Diamond, Carrie Fisher who was immediately followed by her mom Debbie Reynolds, etc.
Yeah. I miss Gord.
Bernie Mac but its because I used to watch his show daily.
Yeah.. l i l peep
Also xxx tentacion and juice wrld
Are we supposed to know who that is in the picture?
I have many more who i really miss and i'm sad that they are gone, but these two shocked me the most i feel:
Paul Walker and Norm MacDonald. I can't explain why them. Paul reminded me of a brother or a best friend. And with Norm, it's impossible for me to explain.I felt sadness when I learned of Betty White's death, and the same when Olivia Newton-John died.
No. If I don’t know someone well enough to have actually met them or invested in them emotionally it doesn’t bother me.
Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Reolver/Wondergirls).
Only queen Elizabeth II's, I was too used to her existence even though I'm African
Robin Williams, probably because at the time I could not imagine someone who was so funny being so miserable.
