I was wrong about Biden’s stance on the the vaccine. He seemed like he was gonna discourage people from Getting it because trump developed it, but obviously that ended up being wrong

No sure if this counts but two, one very recent. The other longer term, though I have since corrected it with equally long term effects.
On the first, I did not support President Biden and did not vote for him, so my error did not go that far. However, although a Republican, I was and am no fan of Mr. Trump and was not sorry to see him go,
That said, as I say, having worked on Capitol Hill since the late 1980s, although I was no fan of Mr. Biden who had - before becoming what I call President Obama's "affirmative action VP" - served in the Senate from Delaware, I did not think he would be particularly significant one way or the other.
To be sure, in the Senate, Mr. Biden had not been a star. Being most famous for having plagiarized the life story of the three time defeated leader of the United Kingdom's Labour Party, Neil Kinnock, as his own. Mr. Biden was, by no means, the worst the Senate had to offer.
There is a line that describes Mr. Biden perfectly. "I'm a man of no convictions - at least I think I am." Mr. Biden does not believe anything in particular, uses words as so much verbal froth, and has no particular competency. Not impressive, but his election - though again I did not vote for him - did not seem to pose much of a risk.
Yet, in my lifetime, till now, Mr. Carter was the worst President. Now Mr. Biden has taken that position. A man of no particular skills or abilities, verbally challenged, to that he has married a lack of defined principle to an utter indifference to policy outcomes. So long as he can argue that those policy outcomes make him look good - or at least that he argued for them all along.
See also the most pro-union President, in his own words, undermining the right to strike of the railway workers. The irony there for me being that, at least in that one narrow instance, Mr. Biden's lack of principles - their long term consequences for the alliance between organized labor and the Democratic party notwithstanding - has conduced to a better outcome for the country.
As far as long term, I had grown up with a fairly conventional view of what defined American conservatism and American liberalism. This leading, in my own thinking, some erroneous conclusions and policy perferences.
Then, at the age of 17, I read, George F. Will's superb book "Statecraft as Soulcraft." Mr. Will is a Ph. D. in political philosophy who is a twice weekly columnist for The Washington Post. The book described classical conservatism, tracing its' intellectual pedigree back to the statesman and political philosopher who is generally regarded as the father of such conservatism - Edmund Burke.
The book made a huge impact on me and still does to this day. It helped me to better understand conservatism and politics in general and has made me a far clearer and articulate thinker of Western political thought and American politics.
By no means perfect - see also my complacent error above. Yet it gave me a far deeper insight into politics than you tend to see even among media commentators. I highly recommend the book even to American liberals. It is well worth your time.
I once mistook a quote from Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live portraying George W. Bush as something Bush actually said. Ha! I went on a long rant on FB about it. When someone posted the SNL skit i had to admit i was being a moron. That was a dark day indeed. Ell oh ell!
That is freaking hilarious. Great life lesson
I was sure the democrats would conquer the republicans in the senate race but it seems they both failed to get a majority there and I thought Donald Trump would avoid running for president again due to his age.
He will always be younger than Biden.
That its obvious who is the bad guys. Turns out everyone is a mix of both.

I've been wrong about many things in politics.
Perhaps the most important of them is when I was a kid i actually believed as I was taught in school that Abraham Lincoln was right.
It was years before I had read the original law myself and what happen in the American revolution and begin to question that assumption.
Thou I am still quite convinced slavery was evil and there were many thing I would condemn about the confederacy. There desire for independence regardless of the reason why was their inalienable right in 1860 just as it was in 1776.
Indeed many of the things Lincoln did were on face value the act of a tyrant such as the arrest of judges who's judgement he disagreed with. He justified theses acts like he justified the war itself like a criminal with an ends justify the means argument that he could not get away with it if it were unlawful.
The fact that Abraham Lincoln was in fact a lawless tyrant was there in front of me demonstrated in his actions yet at 16 i could not see this.
Trump didn't develop the COVID "vaccine". They were developed and distributed by pharma companies. Everything was sorted out before the deep state released the virus to begin with. For example testing equipment for COVID-19 was purchased by all the major nations before the first case of COVID-19 was even reported by over a year. Follow the money and you'll figure that out. They pretended that they were developing test kits and "vaccines" that already existed and were warehoused prior to release. What Trump did is force the release of the "vaccine" for emergency use early, so that you weren't in lock down for 3-5 years while they pretended they were working on a vaccine. You would have still got the same bad gene therapy, but the world economy would have been decimated. Aside from that it was up to you if you wanted to take it. It wasn't even released until he was out of office. Trump had nothing to do with the vaccine. He never mandated that you take it. From the side lines he acted like you should take it, because he knew it was dangerous and people like you hated him. Thus if you hated him enough you would do the opposite of what he asked you to do, saving you from the health consequences. Reverse psychology... People that supported Trump had done their research independently and strongly opposed the experimental vaccine, so he didn't have to worry about that group. They could take care of themselves, because they were already trained and prepared ahead of time. Biden in contrast tried to be a dictator in violation of your constitutional rights and force people to take a dangerous, untested experimental gene therapy that will have long term consequences for human health. That was the entire point. Trump wanted you to see what they were trying to do to you, so that you would learn and wake the fuck up.
The fact is as soon as the "pandemic" began, it was already known that Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin were effective against COVID-19, but the CDC and media hid that from you. Trump took it when he had COVID-19 to show you the way and even as an old guy he got better almost immediately. Yet even though that was known, the deep state tried to bury it and discredit it because they knew if an effective drug was already on the market, they couldn't release an experimental gene therapy "vaccine" for emergency use. As a result they called it horse paste and hit you with tons of propaganda, and then they released a dangerous experimental gene therapy on you anyway, breaking the law in the process...
LOL My views on issues have changed a lot over the years. Reading a lot continually broadens my perspectives. So, when I look back, I've been wrong about a lot of things. LOL
There is one thing that I really got wrong. I was enthusiastic about Mr. "Hope and Change" Obama when he first ran in 2008. I thought he was going to do what he promised. But he was just a smooth, classy Dubya II.
It confirmed what I had been learning about our political system. At this point, both parties are servants to the globalist elites.
when I was around six years old... I used to believe that politicians and governments were good and kind people that were there, for the people
before I turned 7 years old, I had realized that I was wrong, and that, that... was not true at all, not even close, lol... never too late nor early to learn
I was very wrong about 2008 Obama. He was a smooth talker and I drank the kool-aide. He really is an epic snake oil salesman who was a Trojan horse for leftist radicalism.
I figured he would at least be a huge step in healing race relations. Instead he made everything much worse.
Recently? I can't think of much as it's hard to be wrong when almost all of my time is spent playing defense to a bunch of calls for more political violence. Unless I'm wrong about that and there should be political violence?
But if we're not talking about recent, I used to think Hillary and Donald were basically the same. I was gravely mistaken.
That's actually a tough one. I think the closest thing would be when I found out Joe Biden signed more licenses to drill for oil than any other president ever when I thought he was going to take more of it away. He also sort of helped the oil companies in this country strengthen their control over the gas price here.
Trump didn't develop it nor would a president be able to discourage it as actively the government it's self would push them to have to endorse it as part of national safety.
Anyway not really. I have a confidence within my resolve not to devote myself to any politician including not voting. Just watched south park while growing up saw Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwhich said yup and that was it really.
When I was young, I used to think that politicians were good people, wanting to help the people that voted them into office. Then, I learned that all they want is to get into, and stay in, power, and that they'll do anything to do that.
My father used to say that politicians are crooks. I didn't believe him... I do now.
That democrats are even more stupid than I thought voting for Democrats with this collapsing economy they caused by foolish spending and them not allowing free speech and using FBI to cover up evidence of crimes by the Biden clan. They deserve to lose their homes, cars, and starve.
That being a democrat was the better way to go! But, at least I don't let that sway my election choices. I vote according to who I think would be best for the job, not by party. That IS what you're SUPPOSED to do!!
Love this!
Thank you!
believing in left-wing propaganda as a kid e. g. the world is about to end due to climate change, systematic racism and the patriarchy are responsible for all the big problems in society etc.
I honestly thought that the Republicans were going to take more than they did this midterm with how mediocre Democrats have been, but it was less of a Red Wave and more like a Red Water Flicking
Pretty common. A lot of people were surprised by that
Have you considered that the “Red Wave” was just an engineered trope to:
1. Create Democrat enthusiasm to vote against Republicans.
2. Prepare the ground for an immediate media narrative that since there was not, in fact, a gigantic “Red Wave” that the “voters repudiated the Republican position and soundly rejected it.”
In other words, the media creates an issue to create enthusiasm...
... then says that that thing they told you to be afraid of really wasn’t that big of a deal anyways..:
... because the other guys are the “baddies.”
🙄
@Agagagagaga from what I was seeing, both “sides” were hyping up a red wave, I’m sure it was played up by the media because they play everything up
If you just look at the numbers Republicans did quite well, but the media would have you believe that they got their ass handed to them because they intentionally overhyped it.
@Agagagagaga I don’t really care about what the media says anymore
I used to think that political factions mattered, but I've realized since that it's mostly about creating an illusion of mass consent and beyond that it's really just the rich vs the poor like it's always been.
trump didn't develop it, he just put a lot of emphasis behind it. the left trash talked the vaccine until biden was in office. then they became the champions of it.
That’s not answering my question tho
That’s a great answer!
Thinking the political right were anymore rational or reasonable than the political left. Conservatives just hide their insanity better than batshit insane progressives. But as soon as you bring up abortion, it all comes jizzing out.
Downside of being a president. You get in and realize it’s not about you, you have to answer to the people.
I joined the military believing our country stood for common sense values and prevented radical ideas from taking root. However, liberals have proven our biggest danger is within, not outside of, our nation.
That Democrats cared about the Black population and would do something to curb, Black on Black genocide.
I was a liberal growing up and especially at university. I have since realized what a grave mistake that was.
