I'm with you - why is America 🇺🇸 the only country giving financial support to Ukraine? As a matter of fact, America is the only country lending support whenever there is a war. We always stuck our nose in every other countries business! Look at China, they ended up getting 85 billion dollars worth of American military equipment that belonged to the USA, but we left it all in Afghanistan for the Chinese to end up with OUR equipment to fight a war. Trump tughtens his haws everytime he mentions what happened and how China has the equipment that HE made sure America had to fight a war. He replenished our military equipment because Obama left the USA with no equipment in the stock pile and put America 🇺🇸 in danger and we didn't even know Obama left us in harm's way.
With the influx of asylum seekers entering America by the millions (three million) of them, we have to pay for them as well. I know most will work eventually, but they did inherit a lot of things by coming to America.
So, really, America not only supports the war in Ukraine, but lot of different people with all of their needs, as well as sending money to numerous different country's who don't to anything for America.
It is what it is. Like they say "We don't have to like it, we just have to do it".

This 'question' makes no sense. The aid that Ukraine desperately needs outlined in the bill accounts for 2.6% of the $1.7 trillion total to fund the government through next year.

More than half of the bill, $858 billion is for "defense" spending. Not education, healthcare, infrastructure, basic research, etc. We spend almost a TRILLION dollars every year to provide multinational corporations free security to do business. We socialize the cost and allow them to privative the profit. It's a fantastic scam!!!

That's $1.7 trillion in  total  spending, not just what's allocated to Ukraine. Since that bill is for EVERYTHING the government is doing, given to members of Congress with only a few days to read it before the vote, it's still sketchy and corrupt as hell, but not quite as stupid as it seems.

Buying reliable votes is very expensive as is imposing your will upon others in the world. Soon if we somehow manage to avoid nuclear war the unfunded cost of this combined with past efforts dept will be unaffordable.
