Why is every aspect of diversity celebrated except diversity of thought?

Diversity of race, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, etc. is widely celebrated yet if you think differently than the masses, you get cancelled.

Diversity of thought is celebrated. You just define diversity in terms of two categories.

The folks who agree with you. . . and the folks who do not.

That's kind of messed up. Diversity means diversity, even if you and your belief system are not apart of the equation. Haitians and Dominicans have vast cultural differences and differences of opinions on politics and human rights.

I just posted about Haitians and Dominicans. Not as a celebration. But how they are vastly different in culture and they have to navigate those differences to understand what is good about each other's culture. What they have in common. . . and what they don't.

But all of this is neither here nor there.

Because again, you don't mean diversity of thought, culture, lifestyle, tradition, holidays, history. . .

you just mean diversity of political views. Therefore no matter how different people are from each other. . . no matter what they have done to tear down the walls between them and their groups.

From your perspective it is about who agrees with your narrow politics.

So you can't understand the brilliance of James Brown collaborating with Luciano Pavarotti.

You can't absorb it. It is just some "liberal" mess to you.

Every one of your examples is diversity of culture, background or perspective, not diversity of thought. There was a time when different opinions were seen as a strength in arriving at solutions to problems. That's not the case now.

That's the point. You claim an American Indian coming from a unique perspective, upbringing, and culture is the same as me. . . coming from a unique perspective, upbringing, and culture.

Because as we both may not agree with you. . . even as we disagree from each other on issues in history, perspectives on factual incidents and occurrences between our peoples.

The reason being is that doesn't matter to you. The only thing that matters in your world and supposedly in mine and everyone else's. . . is what you think and what you believe.

In my cultural discussion group at meetup/facebook, there are vast differences in culture, perspective, etc. We have discussed issues like Buffalo Soldiers and "Black" members of Indigenous tribes. And we have disagreed. . sometimes in very heated discussions.

But all of that looks the same to a person who doesn't consider either experience, equal to or as valid as his own.

So why would you pretend to this discussion is something that it is not. This is not a discussion about diversity. You are just parading around a new strategy to get folks to agree with you politically. And you use the cover of "diversity" as a disingenuous method for making your argument.

The reason is that diversity of thought threatens the agenda of a particular political party that has become, in recent years, the most intolerant group in America. That party is ALL ABOUT diversity, as long as it doesn't challenge their agenda and world view. And when it does, those presenting different ideas get cancelled.
