I’m 38 but I’ve been getting called ma’am a lot and people treat me as if I’m a senior citizen.
Unfortunately we've only got "Miss" and "Ma'am". ("Madam" isn't really used much anymore.) There is no neutral "Mister" female equivalent.
At 38, you are not "Miss."
I get it, though. The transition sucks.

I call people ma’am regardless of age.
You’re an adult and probably look like one. I think you’re thinking too much about it, lol.
I call lots of females ma'am. It is just being polite. Don't start to worry until people start calling you grandma.
Is this before or after you yell at them to get off your lawn.
Yes, I realize I'm older than you. 😂

Ma'am isn't always an age marker. It is used by many as a sign of respect: an age-neutral version of "sir". So being called ma'am isn't something related to how old you look.
Because someone calls you ma’am doesn’t mean you’re old. It’s a sign of respect
What does “treating like a senior citizen mean?”
Ma’am is basic politeness. Counterpart to Sir.I say ma'am to all women regardless of age when operating in a professional capacity. You may be reading to much into it. Or you might just be decrepit like me and if so it suck's to be you.
You are always doing this are you that insacure? Or in such bad need of validation? Wtf
