Nancy Pelosi did some disrespectful ish about 3 years ago too, standing and ripping papers behind Trump's back as he addressed the country at the state of the union.

Congress as a whole acted like idiots last night while the president was speaking constantly interrupting him with yelling and shaking heads.

Lets limit our opinions to the actual factual evidence that we have on hand - this creates a far more politically educated society overall to do so - "show me the evidence" as economist Thomas Sowell would say.

I do not live in the states so do not have bias in this case - Separate of the issue discussed - lets look at the facts we have proof of only and let that guide our political opinion as the outcome - not the other way around - as many people less educated are more prone to doing (self confirmation bias in psychology is what this is known as).

- During the state of the union 2023 -

- Biden stated that a small portion of republicans are against having medicare continued for hard working americans (fact).

- Marjorie (a republican) told biden that he was a liar in stating this (fact).

- Biden stated (paraphrasing) - grest both all on the same page then - medicare will continue to be in place (fact) - show support for this to americans watching on video by standing up to show your support if you agree - the vast majority of both parties stood up to count the vote (passed by congress rule of supermajority - so policy was tabled on the spot as completed to continue as both parties showed they wanted across the board) (fact).

- Majorie calling biden a lier is also misinformation as Republican Rick scott has a signed policy trying to be pushed through to eliminate medicare for hard working americans (fact), and is also on video indicating he - a republican - wants medicare scrapped. for hard working americans to take away their health care coverage (fact). Both of these make Bidens statement that a small amount of republicans are against medicare entirely correct (fact). De facto in law - making Majories entire incorrect in calling him a liar.

- Biden alsp clearly states Rick Scott's signed policy is freely on the gov website for any who wish to fact check this (fact).

I don't care what party people vote for - that os for them to decide. But it is always important (I feel) for each person to critique their own opinions on what the believe or why they like something with the best evidence they have on hand at the time - and the reliability of the source of that evidence to drive their opinions they feel they believe or support at that moment in time.

In terms of your question HCG - love. it. I feel respect to be given it has to first be earned. I think its fine hoe they operate as the truth always comes out eventually.

If trump was speaking Im sure the dems would be doing the exact same. thing right back if we go back and watch the 2017 or ,18 state of the union speeches (I have not checked this though if they would do so or not - but it likely occurs with both parties to the other often if being open minded about it).

I will now be interested to fsct check myself tonight if the dems inturrupt. trump the exact same way in the SOTU speech for his years or not tonight and see if my opinion is valid or if I should alter my perception if the evidence shows a different dynamic to actually know rsther than just guess at.

I don’t think there should be a state of the union at all. I think they should be writing a letter to Congress in which congress read the non televised letter. And be done with it..

That being said, I think is important when people call out lies, Biden lied, time and time again and that’s speech from the beginning. The state of the union is not great the state of the union is fractured we don’t share an ideology. We don’t agree on the definition of a woman, the definition of racism. Or frankly, anything else this goes back to a quote I actually heard earlier today we have never been the United States of America. We have only been an empire in which regional control is established. Yes, a president should be respected. I'm not going into party politics since this applies to both. I cringed when Pelosi tore up the speech just as much as I thought it was wrong of Greene to shout. It's disrespectful on both sides of the aisle.
