Joe Biden has declared war on gun owners in America and will be sending in police to confiscate your guns, what would you do?

The Sheriff around these parts will not enforce that order, hell the entire state would not. It would be up to Federal Law enforcement only, ATF, FBI, etc... and the state would also ban them from using any local prisons/jails to hold anyone they detain/arrest.
They would need to bring portable jails and even then how do you arrest tens of thousands of people that way? Assuming the federal officers don't end up in a war zone.
There is already some sheriffs who refuse to let federal prisoners stay in their prisons.
As it stands right now, there is already federal gun laws the state will not enforce.
They don't prohibit the feds from enforcing, simply that local police/sheriffs cannot enforce federal law. Which actually goes right along with what the feds have said all along.
That they and only THEM have the legal authority to arrest someone on federal criminal charges.
This would be no different, no local police would have any authority to enforce federal law, even if they wanted to.
It would become a warzone, as most people would not give up their guns, considering it is against the 4th amendment. Stealing property without just compensation.
Biden would need to offer to buy back guns at a massively inflated price to get anyone to willingly give them up and even then it wouldn't be that many. I might sell a few for 10k each. Then again, civil war would be starting so the US dollar might be worthless.
The way the cops have been getting shit on for the last few years, I can't see this happening. I heard a sheriff say that if there's a ban on AR-15s, his department won't enforce it. They don't want to take guns away from law abiding citizens.
@gummy_cluster
I think they only blame the cops because they don't what the local goverment that hired, trained, disciplined, and commanded them for being held politically responsible for the same incompetents.
The sheriff is one of the few elected executives who is can't pretend he doesn't command law enforcement, as such he can and will make policy changes like that. Because he will be held responsible.
@monorprise
Either way, I don't think the cops are going to risk their lives for Joe Biden. I can't remember where it was, but the entire police for quit in one day because of incompetent mayor. You can only bend a branch so much before it snaps.
The federal government doesn't have the authority to do that. If they come into your county without the sheriff's permission and try to violate your constitutional rights, you just call the sheriff and tell them someone is impersonating an officer knocking on your door asking about guns. Send someone out before it gets ugly. Then the sheriff arrests them at gun point and puts the federal agents in jail.
The local sheriff can't put a fed in jail anymore unfortunately, hey last tried to do that 200 years ago, the feds don't like it.
You can however ask the locals to come verify the man at your door is an officer, before telling both of them you won't talk to them without a valid warrant, verified by a trusted local authority.
All of this of course will cost them a lot of time and money meaning they can infringe upon that many fewer people's rights.
Just remember the basics, like don't open the door anymore than you have to and don't say anything you dont have to.
Yea, no, local cops don't have any authority over federal agents. Federal agencies and their personnel are generally, except in explicit cases, of higher authority than local and county judiciary and police branches. Complaining like a fragile baby to the local sheriff and thinking the sheriff has the power and would even attempt to arrest federal agents 'at gun point' is hilariously stupid. Please stop voting - clearly people like you are why murderous and hate-mongering Republicans are still in elected positions.
Also, check you sources of information: all of your precious guns are not being taken away by the federal government. The feds are trying, though people such as yourself are such selfish individuals that you'll never understand what it means to do good for the health of the community, to limit and reduce the number of excessively deadly weaponry currently in the hands of everyday citizens who would in no real-world scenario would actually have need for such items.
Second amendment rights. Read that and then understand the world at that time. Statistics and data. As in, the number of children, women, men, people of all backgrounds and ages who have been killed when domestic terrorists, often with white supremacist agendas of hate, decide 'today's the day' and head out to commit murder.
Think about your bloated and warped sense of what your rights are, and seriously analyze what you're so afraid of and why.
Then go away. Far, far away and stay there. Forever.
K byyyyyyeeeee!
@monorprise Actually the sheriff has ultimate jurisdiction over law enforcement in his county. He's elected by the people, to protect the constitutional rights of the people. He can only be removed by the people or by the governor if he is derelict in his duty. In my state, as well as most states, the sheriff and his powers are defined in the state constitution. American states are sovereign. If the federal government or another state has a dispute with the state, that's what the supreme court can arbitrate. I already know the laws of my state and what my county sheriff thinks of the law. I also understand what sheriffs in surrounding counties think. I know how my governor feels about the issue and how the state guard sees it. But if you care to press you luck, by all means try it. It will be entertaining.
Are you okay? Like seriously, is there someone who should be contacted regarding your well-being? It’s okay to need help; I thought at first you might be joking, but now I realize you actually believe the government, as in the Federal Government of the United States, is going to go to all the homes of all the people who may or may not own traceable, military-grade weaponry, and then just magically “take them all away”. I believe you legit need help.
I’m not sure to what extent you’re mentally incapacitated, but in simple terms and phrases:
The Federal Government can only exercise its power and authority, though vast and unlimited resources, on large, overarching issues in extremely specific instances. Considering the amount of issues that affect us all on a daily basis, this full exercise of power is relatively small. Aka: the government does not have enough strength to completely remove all guns from everywhere all at once.
But go off on how you think Feds are showing up at your door. #moron
Clearly you don’t understand what I’m telling you, so please do us all a favor and enroll in a class that teaches critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.
Thanks!!
As James Madison put it, “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite”. If a power is not listed in the Constitution specifically, it does not rest as an authority within the federal government. As explicitly stated in the tenth amendment to the US Constitution “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”. Thus, in the United States, the federal government does not hold a general police power and may only act where the Constitution enumerates a power. It is the states, who hold the general police power. States have the power to compel obedience to the law through whatever measures they see fit provided that they don’t infringe on the right protected in the US Constitution or the state’s own constitution. The second amendment to the US Constitution clearly states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”. Article I, § 8(a) of the Florida Constitution also clearly states “The right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and of the lawful authority of the state shall not be infringed, except that the manner of bearing arms may be regulated by law”.
Article II, § 5(b) of the Florida Constitution also clearly states “Each state and county officer, before entering upon the duties of the office, shall give bond as required by law, and shall swear or affirm: ‘I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States and of the State of Florida; that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the state; and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of [title of office] on which I am now about to enter. So help me God.”, and thereafter shall devote personal attention to the duties of the office, and continue in office until a successor qualifies. So like I said fuck around and find out little girl...
@ImHere22 It is true in practice for 200 years Federal agents have refuse to submit to the jurisdiction of the state in any matter. This of course is a power they usurped for themself as its no where written in the constitutions that they are supreme in all cases whatsoever.
Indeed their own hypocritical application of the same constitution against the states would require that they themselfs be presumed non-federal agents in any matter not covered by the same Constitution.
This would included almost every domestic matter of every kind and almost none are at all mentioned in the 11 page Constitution of 1787. As such I would agree with @BeMuse
by all natural rights the sheriff should be able to arrest federal agents engaged in such an activity for criminal Larceny. As they are by said definition of the same Constitution which says nothing at all of such domestic powers not acting as legitimate federal agents.
It is furthermore You @ImHere22 who is selfishly insisting upon radical disregard of the limits of our consent to be governed simply to impose you own agenda of what YOU arrogantly think is better for OUR community.
The truth is you dont know anything about our community, and you make theses judgements on the assumption that everyone lives like you do with cops 5 minutes rather than an hour away. Frankly given how poorly you manage your own community we have good reason to question your judgement there too.
I'm going to kill people... straight up. I've done it before and it was justified by your government shit and I was ordered to do it. Now I just want to play video games and be left alone... come at me bro. I will fuck you up!. I got so much shit you'll have to shit yourself a few times.
Where do you live?
@loveslongnails The states... Pacific northwest below Canada. For now... I'm getting transferred to the East coast.

Don't worry... if China attacks I will be the guy you want on your side.
Dude... the next world war will not be decided by the number of AK-47's you have in your basement. It will be nukes, we'll destroy the planet, and you might as well be dead. Good luck.
@loveslongnails Ah, you're probably right... nobody would be dumb enough to mess with me in the basement.
Actually, if nukes hit, nobody will care, dude.
@loveslongnails 😂 If nukes hit and I was dead anyways... I don't think I would even care, dude.

The police don't take orders from Joe Biden, they are 90%+ state and local.
Your State or Local goverment would have to issue such orders, the Feds don't have anything even close to the resources much less authority to implement them.
Most States would tell Joe Biden to go pound sand.
No one is coming for your guns, you misinformation feeder. He is proposing that owners of assault-style weapons either sell their firearms through a voluntary buyback program or register their weapons with the government. Right now, it's a proposal, not even a bill. And when it's a bill, IF it becomes one, it won't pass.
The same police he defunded? Funny how those people in a cop suit suddenly come in handy when it's for something HE wants done!!
Boys in blue, stick like glue!
Walk right up to him and say, "FUCK YOU!!".
first shot is a warning over their heads the second one goes center mass.

The cops can't strike, but they can all get sick at the same time.
Probably give them up. Am I going to risk becoming a criminal, going to jail, losing my job, risking my kid's future to own a gun.
I would ask where the nearest "Gun Buyback" place is.
Stop reading whatever source reported that nonsense.
It is too hypothetical. But if the government began to dispatch the BATF, some or all of the 5082 employees wouldn't survive a day.
If it ever came down to that, then it would mean the Constitution is no longer the law of the land and therefore any actions of the government would be invalid. At that point, it is time to fight
No. He defunded the police and most cops won’t enforce this bullshit
What guns? They were lost in a boating accident. I'm still sad about it, could you not bring it back up?
Laugh. My local PD would tell him to F-off, as would the county sheriffs in many of the counties in my state, and I live in Commiefornia.
Nothing- I don't own guns and this post is incredibly incorrect.
I'll grab my popcorn and watch it unfold on my tv in Europe
You’re a dangerous individual for creating this fake news situation.
He is not... this is so stupid.
This is fake news. Don't listen to the fake news media!
Stop inventing BS that isn't true.
It was a hypothetical
Yet another alarmist conspiracy theory.
A legal gun owner has nothing to worry about
I’ll start shooting
Not going to happen
