I've been hearing people say skinny is coming back into fashion, with really low-rise jeans, and honestly, I'm dreading it a little. I struggled, and still do with extreme depression around body image. A friend of mine tried to commit suicide last week over weight problems, and she wasn't even that overweight. Obviously, the most helpful thing to do is to not care about what's trendy or 'ideal,' but also obviously, that's easier said than done.
Still, which body trend do you think is most damaging to society?

Someone mentioned, which is true, that Skinny never actually left, and I think it's true that it sneaks into pretty much every body trend to an extent. So maybe this question should be about focus instead. Having skinny limbs and thigh gaps focus, or thicker thighs and large butts?

Neither. Unhealthy bodies are the most dangerous trends. Like this 🤮
I agree. I think it's good for us to start being more open with what natural bodies look like, and not bullying people for being overweight, but encouraging obesity is just wrong.
Neither one is really good for you being too big. It's not good for you and being too skinny is not good for you so everything in moderation somewhere in the middle would be fine
When people say skinny is ‘coming back’ I chuckle bc it never left
That's true, I think skinny will always be something that will dominate, in all its different forms. Technically it's there in the thick trend too, in slim thick.
