What Do You Think About Raising Kids The Gender Neutral Ways?

Question

Parents can :
- let the kids pick if they wanna play with doll, ball, car or kitchen set.
- teach them they don't have to like a particular colour because all colours are pretty awesome.
- teach them it's not okay to fight and if you throw a fake food party, you've gotta invite your best friends.
- let them like both Power Ranger and Winx Club, because both are valid television choices.

and as for the surgery, if they want one, they have to be at least 18yo. no exceptions.

I agree with everything you say more or less.

I agree if raising a gender neutral kid means those things, I would encourage them to play whatever they want to play, pick any colours, etc.
Basically, avoid any preconception of what being a boy or a girl allows you to do.

But I would still call them and define them as their sex (biological gender) until they become adults. And I would explain that, once 18, they have the possibility to do legal or even biological changes, but I would still encourage them to wait even longer, as there are many cases of young people making these decisions encouraged by their groups of friends and fads, and regretting them later when they're older.

I would also teach them that identifying as a different gender is a choice and not a lifestyle. I wouldn't like my kids to revolve their lives around the fact that they're trans for example like many people do. Life is more than that.

Who exactly wasn't? I don't know anyone born after the 90's who was forced into a dress or a bow tie. Kids play will toys and watch all shows. And yes surgery should absolutely NOT be made available to minors with or without parental consent that's barbaric

My son won't be playing with makeup nor barbies. My daughter won't be standing to pee. My son can like any color thats preferably not pink or purple. Kids are gonna fight, sure they can fight with words but i would prefer they know how to throw hands as a backup plan. I didn't even know Power Rangers and Winx were still a thing outside my gen. Im gonna def show them old cartoons/shows and not this new stuff. If they want surgery or to be anything other than straight then they can act on that after they graduate school and move out. They’ll have a Christian influenced upbringing. They can still choose from a majority of things, just not everything

I don't get how inviting best friends is an example of gender. Is it? You mean boys aren't raised to consider their friends in that type of situation? Anyway, yes I certainly agree that letting kids choose what they want to play with is fine. And yes, definitely wait till 18 to get surgery. Any age younger is too young to know who you are.

There is no gender neutrality in my house. My kids will be taught that they are who they were born to be. And I will empower them to be confident in their own skin and gender. They will love who they are and learn to be productive members of society as the gender they were assigned from DNA at birth. If they want to do all that other nonsense, they can decide to do that when they are well out my house and on there own. People won’t like my answer because it doesn’t align with there agendas. And I don’t care…. If you are one of those keep scrolling because I’m not engaging in a discussion about that. You don’t have to like my views but my kids will be taught the right way to live in this society.

I'd like to adopt in the future and sure I would accept the child's personality 100%. Interests are developing all the time. It's not just a child's thing. When I was young I was obsessed with princesses, pink, gowns, sleepovers, makeup and all the girly things. Then I got older and wanted to become more fearless think wearing black clothes, interested in motorcycles, playing games, guns, box and self-defense. Now I embrace both of my sides. I feel like there is only a small amount of people who are 100% girlish/boyish. For girls it's getting better, however I feel like society makes it so hard for boys to fully express themselves. If he likes fucking dresses and makeup he is gay if he is sensitive he's a pussy. Because of this he represses his real personality and becomes "the man society wants him to be" Truly sad.

I'm for all of those things. Don't care if my son wants to dress up as a princess and play with barbies, don't care in my daughter wants to play with cars and dress as a prince. I will however use gendered pronouns according to my child's assigned sex unless I am told otherwise by them.

Gender confirming surgery isn't being preformed on anyone under 18.

Medically necessary surgeries will of course be performed.

It sounds like I was raised that way. My parents would let me play with dolls if I wanted. When I was 5, I was wondering why my sister got finger nail polish and I didn't. I wore it once and didn't like it. Lol
