The Rights of Fathers in relation to unborn children?

this is just a hypocritical to get some debate ( i will play devil's advocate so i apologize if my stance upsets people)

should the father have a legal right to be at any midwive, doctors and scans for the pregnancy? should the father have a legal right to be in the delivery room?

should the father get a say in abortion? should the father be able to refuse to pay any child support if he does not want the baby?

what do you think the answers are to this questions and what do you think the would be a good way to make thinks more equal between men and women when it comes to pregnancy and kids?

My personal opinions:

should the father have a legal right to be at any midwive, doctors and scans for the pregnancy?

• No but he should have a right to see the doctors results and scans that concern the baby.

should the father have a legal right to be in the delivery room?

• If there already is a legal ruling that he will for some reason get the custody yes, otherwise no. On this note: this should be a possibility if the mother has shown to be irresponsible and legally not deemed to be a responsible mother, but not wanting an abortion either.

should the father get a say in abortion? should the father be able to refuse to pay any child support if he does not want the baby?

• He should be able to express his opinion and let it be noted for any future situations but not be able to make an impact to the decision, beside bringing vocal arguments to the decision of the mother.

• IF he wanted an abortion he should not have any financially responsibility and general responsibility towards the child. Only if he wants to.
• Same note other way around: If for some reason the mother would be fine with a pregnancy but not the responsibility of a child but the father wants to, than I would argue that It should be possible to make the mother financially not responsible and outside of pregnancy give all responsibility to the father.

This is all in the cases that the mother doesn't want it. Rights should only be used when there is someone not willing to grant them anyway. So if the mother wants to have him by his side than why not in all cases. I read this as in divorced and different opinions from mother and father.

These are not even fucking reasonable questions to ask. There are exceptions such as rapes, disabilities, and such. But this is what the laws are there for.

The problem isn't about anything being "equal". It's about how much responsibility and punishment should be brought to bear.

You get a girl pumping out babies for welfare and trapping her daddies, but try and make her "equal" to a girl who got raped in an alley.

Yeah. It takes two to make a baby. Just like I think men (or women) should pay child support. You made a child. Now be a father or a mother.

but legally it is not a child until it has been born plus it is the womens body so she sould be able to remove any unwanted things from it

the reason it is consider double homicide is because the Supreme court of the United States ruled in Roe v. Wade that Abortion is legal up to a decided time period so if you kill a pregnant women before the abortion period is up it is only a homicide but if you kill her after the abortion period then and only then is it double homicide as it is assumed the women intented to carry to term
