Yes. As Prince of Wales, notwithstanding the personal matters related to Princess Diana - and she was as much, if not more, to blame for her untimely demise - Charles as heir to the throne has done his constitutional duty almost flawlessly.
As Prince, Charles served in the British armed forces. He was scrupulous in observing the prerogatives of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II and yet made significant contributions to British culture and the arts.
In the matter of Princess Diana, the Prince was mistaken in being pushed into a loveless marriage. Yet even here, at least part of what motivated the then Prince Charles was the belief that the heir to the throne must establish a traditional family life and, indeed, sire his own heir.
These are the obligations of any heir to the throne in a monarchy. Charles' error - and it was much perhaps self-delusion as poor thinking or ill intentions - was in assuming that duty would compensate for a loveless marriage.
Yet for all that, Princess Diana led a life of frivolousness and irresponsible self-pity. She too easily too for granted the privilege into which she married and gave too little account to her duties. Indeed, it was this that led her into car accident that cost the Princess her life.
Charles, for his part, has married the woman he loves and does all that can be expected of a man to make amends for his errors. That is all that can be asked of any man.
Of course, the rest of the book remains to be written. Charles as heir to the Throne proved, on the whole, that he was worthy of the duties his station requires of him. Now it will be seen if he is equal to that task as the UK's Head of State.
If the past is predicate, it is not impossible that King Charles will make a few mistakes. Such is the human condition. However, overall, Charles will likely prove a fine monarch in the tradition of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
I respect that a majority of people on the UK would like to hold on to the monarchy. I hope this will change during the time of this king, but it's up to them to decide.
I do not know him as a person. I think it's fair to say that some of his predessessors were worse, especially when they still wielded real power.
he's very controversial solely because of diana but i actually like him, he seems respectable (minus the cheating) and very duty-centred which is what a monarch should be, and he was involved with environmental charities way before all the media attention
It’s perhaps worth remembering that Diana cheated on Charles first.
He could have retaliated when she spoke out about him, but he took it on the chin and advised his friends to be kind to her because she was being manipulated by the press and she was vulnerable.
Diana and a Charles were good friends by the time their divorce was finalised. He had invited her to balmoral just before she died and she had accepted.
Diana also described Charles as a “Noble man” and stated that to suggest that he didn’t love her would be false:
I don’t know very much about him but sure I’d respect him.

Why would anyone respect that asswipe?
https://www.youtube.com/embed/R_UnRBXbyo8Nope why should I? What's his contribution to humanity exactly? Did he invent a cure for cancer, the law of gravity, won a medal in the Olympics or did anything noteworthy? He was just born with a golden spoon. Honestly it's kinda cringey how people in 2023 still have and admire royals. Personally I couldn't care less
More than the great Spike Milligan!
https://www.youtube.com/embed/TkOAUht3G5oRespect is earned. He doesn't have to earn it from me though. I'll leave that to the English. So far all I've seen is family drama and a hat fitting.
Respect for what? He's never done anything in his life but eat, poop, sleep and sit around in luxury.
Spends literally all his days living off the people for free.
He served in the military for five years, and can fly fighter planes
What have you done
5 years out of his 80 plus years ain't ish. I work for my living and food with my sweat.
That bum sits around laughing and living for free off the people..
He’s not 80
Lol typical ignorant person, he has done more for the world then you will ever do for your own family. And are you even here in the UK. you are Spanish aren't you. Don't you still torture animals in a ring for sport whilst the greatest King ever speaks out for animal welfare.
He also set up the Prince’s trust with his army pay out…. a charity that he poured everything into, and one that has helped millions of people.
There are many famous people who got their start in their career because of TPT.
Though I'm an Irish Republican he is the British sovereign and generally has the support of the majority so I respect that.
No, not really, but I don't hate him either.
I know he looks like a real douche but he iis actually very intelligent and was a Navy flyer.
I don't disrespect him. We'll see what he does.
I mean I don't know him but I'm sure he's a dreadful husband and father. But look at his parents, he probably can't help what he is.
He's a hypocrite and an adulterer,
Not the best material for a monarch.
King Charles is about as respectable as a limp dick at a gangbang. I mean, this guy's a total hypocrite, preaching family values while cheating on his wife left and right. He's like a dog in heat, humping everything that moves. Picture this: a giant, throbbing scepter, covered in glitter and lube, being shoved down his throat by a group of angry peasants. And that's just the beginning. But seriously, how can we respect a man who can't even keep his own biological female pussy protected by her thighs? He's like a horny teenager, constantly getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. So no, I don't respect King Charles. He's a disgrace to the throne, and a mockery of everything a monarch should stand for. Except he's a tranny like king Elizabeth was. @boobslayer deserves the throne more.
As a person, I don't know, I don't know him personally.
But I respect his title, and what that title carries as a tradition.
I don't agree with his political positions, but I respect him as the king even though I'm American.
Kings are outdated, and old people shouldn't be kings
If he respects me. But in general i dont, because he got his side bitch crowned! FUCKING EW!
I don't know him
Whole British monarchy sucks
Let me tell you, those royal cocksuckers are about as respectable as a clown at a funeral. I mean, what do they even do except wear fancy hats and wave at crowds? They're like a bunch of overpaid cheerleaders, cheering on their own irrelevance. Imagine a giant, throbbing royal scepter, covered in jewels and cum, being passed around by a group of horny courtiers. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. And what's the point of a monarchy in this day and age anyway? It's like a bad joke that nobody's laughing at. I don't respect King Charles, or any of those other royal assholes either. They can all go suck on their own royal cocks for all I care.
I respect his position if not the man.
Did he go to the private island?
Nope
Hell no.
Fuck no
