Too little forest management. Also, wildfires are natures way of managing old trees and vegetation. 1000 years ago, lightning caused wildfires that eventually burned themselves out.

I live hours away from Montreal and I believe I was affected by the wild fires even though I was indoors. My head felt tired for a few days, as if I had heat exhaustion.

Attrition. His policies are forcing more people to move into cities. More in the city means fewer in the country and city folk know shit about fire safety.

That's quite a leap there, let's try to break this down.

I'm not really sure which policies you're referring to here. I don't disagree necessarily, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that. And I haven't even heard that much from his critics.

I don't think the numbers in the country are actually decreasing. And given the ever increasing population, it's not zero sum.

Well that's a hell of a generalization: Based on what do you say that?
Do city folk actually start more forest fires per capita?
Even if city folk do on average have less understanding about fire safety, country folk don't just lose all that knowledge when they move. So if this effect was happening it would take way longer than just the few years Trudeau has been in power. And that's assuming people immediately started moving once he won the election.

And finally, let's say for the sake of argument that it is as you say Trudeau's policies forcing people to move to the city where they become significantly less responsible WRT fire safety resulting in more fires. The problem then isn't people moving to the city, but people not being educated about fire safety. You can say too many people moving to the city is bad for other reasons, but limiting people from moving to the city as a way of limiting fires is insane. So unless you're blaming Trudeau for people not being educated on fire safety (please try to defend that point), blaming him for this is also insane.
