If you could pick a time period to live in other than now, what would it be and why?

Late 1800s to early 1900s seems like fun and there'd be a lot of reading material.

No way that the 1800 to 1900 was a good time to live. You had 12 hours hard work days and was crammed in some shack with your coworkers. Most people lived in what we would call misery today. No voting rights. Not much control over your faith. Right now it seems like if I was born after ww2, you got the best period, when you grew up, housing was affordable, jobs was easy to get, no need for long education. Now we are in a downwards spiral for young people.
