and i don’t mean omegaverse haha. it’s fake by the way. even in wolves, alphas only existed when the wolves were in captivity.
+1 yNope. That became big when those manosphere douchebags online started trying to rip young men off with misogynistic beliefs because they knew young guys were young and vulnerable and impressionable. It was a way of basically saying if you treat women like garbage you were "alpha" if you treat them with respect you were "beta" or a "simp"
Now if anyone says it I don't take them seriously at all and I pity them because I know what their beliefs are and how they view and treat women.71 Reply

Oh there’s a friend zone. I don’t believe in the simp thing though.
Opinion Owner+1 y@WhyohWhy69
The simp will mow your yard because your boyfriend is playing video games. Simps go to bars and spend their paycheck buying strangers drinks.- +1 y
There are simps and Friend zones.

Most men’s groups consider simps any man who is kind to women.
Opinion Owner+1 yNo, men know what a simp is.
- +1 y
@WhyohWhy69 Well I'm kind to good women, But I'm not afraid to tell a bitch what I think of of her if she is one. There are a lot of men I don't think highly of either. Simps are men that will do anything for a person with a vagina. Good men do help people if they needed it and aren't treated like a doormat.
Opinion Owner+1 y@findacure4wokeness
That's a good way to define a simp: They will gladly be a doormat to anyone with a vagina.- +1 y
Everything you said is wrong.

@gothbxtch you obviously don't know the definition of that term.

I believe its application becomes less objectively relatable in our human society. Unlike other species, we possess unparalleled intelligence, which results in the complexity and evolution of our leadership dynamics. Our social structures are not confined to a single hierarchical model that rewards dominance or reproductive success, as observed in some animal groups. Instead, our societies are shaped by various factors and embrace diverse leadership styles beyond mere dominance.
In return, we are allowed many ways to perceive someone. We each have our own unique perception of reality. Even if we share similar goals, beliefs, values, etc, there will always be nuances because of our intelligence. And most of the time, we're not forced to behave in a strict way for survival so they can be properly shown.
However, In our societies, I believe the perception of alpha males can & do exist even if their presence is not as straightforward as it is in other species. Instead, we encounter numerous alpha males due to our ability to form multiple hierarchical structures and place individuals at the top of each.
I know it's a cringe term nowadays. But I like to not let the cringe take over my entire perspective.
Were still animals, so if I went on the street & asked people who's more alpha & gave them two very different examples of people. Two extremes. They would be able to answer very easily:
Keanu Reeves?

Or the plymouth mass shooter?

Keanu exhibits many traits that people would see as better for society. Making him a way better candidate for a leadership role. And the plymouth guy... well... his actions tell you everything he's worth.
So I think it's clear to see that our minds are still able to think on these terms. Even if we disagree with the semantics (name of the term, the definition, or how it's often used).
10 ReplyYes, I do, but it ultimately depends on how you define it. Many women and men mock the concept, but in reality, I think it's naive because humans since the dawn of time have always needed a leader - or an alpha. I define an alpha by: 1) fearless, 2) dominant, 3) independent, 4) goes after what they want, 5) don't complain, but accept it and move on/realist - you don't need all these qualities, but in general, it's masculinity to its core. The term "alpha" is usually applied in the dating world context. Let's look at a few case studies from the Avengers:
1. Tony Stark (Alpha)
- Doesn't follow, goes after what he wants, not a team player (good and a bad thing), fearless in many ways, etc. If there's a woman interested, he goes for it without fear and dominates.
2. Thor (my favorite Avenger)
- Same as Tony, but he's a team player and while he's no pushover, when it comes to women, he acts more like Captain or Bruce (nice guy).
3. Captain (third favorite Avenger)
- The lighter version of the "nice guy," but he will burn Heaven down if he thinks it's the right thing to do. His charisma and leadership skills evoke those to follow him because they trust him and confidence, but in terms of dating, he wouldn't be considered an alpha.
4. Bruce Banner
- The definition of a "nice guy." Despite being a genius, he doesn't act like one because virtually everyone I've met who has a high IQ (including my girlfriend or myself), are almost always independent and fearless, but Bruce is very much a pushover and a team player.
5. Dr. Strange (second favorite Avenger tied with Black Panther)
- Strange is the definition of a leader, but his interest is not in leadership, but intellectual pursuits to win competitively - kind of like those guys in business who have a "no prisoner's mentality."
6. Thanos (the Alpha)
- Thanos exhibits what I would consider what a true Alpha is, but for obvious reasons, he has no interest in dating since his interest is far beyond basic biological needs. He is the ultimate warrior. I guarantee you before TItan when to shit and had he put time into understanding the Game, he would have been a Playboy.
7. Black Panther (Another Alpha)
- Black Panther is a combination of Tony and Thanos , but similar to Thor, doesn't apply to dating.
Overall, I left out a ton of details for each case study, but just understand that being "alpha" in my opinion applies to a general sense. True leaders, warriors, or "alphas" in this context generally have a warrior mindset in all things that they do. You have to look at their actions, presence, charisma, etc to make those inferences. Hope that helps.

Alpha man and high value man are terms designed by douchebags for douchebags. They are typical school yard bullies with often nasty personalities demeaning others and pounding on their chests saying we are superior... when reality is, they're inferior.
The "alpha" man and "high value" man are like those attitude problem bosses who go around demanding respect, not earning it, that NOBODY except the ass kissers like.

Absolutely correct. Apparently Andrew Tate is downvoting all of these answers 😂😂 pathetic.
I'm still cringing that anyone believes this is a thing to begin with. Leadership is a learned skill more often than not. Charisma is sometimes inherent/learned at an early age that to high social/emotion intelligence, but can be learned as well.
30 ReplyNope. It's all BS. For those guys to compensate for everything else they lack.
52 Reply495 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The world population was recently put to a test. They were told covid vaccines were mandated. They told you to wear masks. Laws were not made to insure that everyone would actually take it. Government officials just violated your human rights and told you that you had to get it. That you had to wear a mask. They gas lighted you with a media blitz to brainwash you into following their orders. They used smear tactics to isolated and bully people that would not obey. They tried to bribe people. They had no legal authority to tell you any of that, yet they used all the tools available to them and massive amounts of propaganda to push it upon you. Vast amounts of people followed their directions. Those people are followers. The people that refused to follow their bullshit are leaders. That is the strongest evidence you will find in modern times in a study of human behavior. It was put on display right in front of you. I don't know how you missed it.

@slatyb Sorry to break it to you but a "Page Not Found" link to a PBS channel which is funded by a government that lied to you isn't a source nor is it data. You don't even know how to reference data. It's fucking sad. You've proven you are uneducated and have no training in statistics. Oh and by the way I'm not a conservative, you're just retarded.
Yea girl you right about wolves but what about lions? tall, muscular leader is an alpha male.
10 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Human dynamics and relationships are complicated and multifaceted. Some of the concepts may have some relative merit. ie we probably do alternate between different mood states and brain waves throughout the day. The idea that anyone is any fixed one thing or the other is really fucking stupid though.

10 Reply - 9.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yYes. Alpha males are an extreme minority of the world's population though.
Typically, those guys are extreme harden very dominate criminals of other harden criminals and so people will rarely come in contact with a real alpha man in a day to day life experience.

20 ReplyOf course. Hierarchies are a dominant feature of human social relations. The only thing that's cringe is when people either deny its existence or pretend like they're someone who they clearly aren't.
02 Reply- +1 y
Because it doesn't exist in humans anymore except in tribes isolated within the Amazon and Africa 🤣
- +1 y
@bingbongbangbung Of course they exist. It's just such a natural part of the human experience that you don't see it. The government, the corporate structure, the pecking order within your social groups, the leadership of a religious organization, the grandparents/parents/kids within a family, etc. These are all hierarchies.
+1 yNot in the literal sense no. I read alpha I hear "best of the group, thriving, an example to follow". But what we see as an example will be subjective.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yWhy do so many people get triggered by the term alpha male. It just describes men who are charismatic, natural leaders, and they obviously exist. If there's another term you want to use that makes you less triggered, that's fine. Call them whatever you want.

@slatyb humans aren't any different. there are those who we delegate as our leaders via elections i. e. presidents, prime ministers etc. or via job policy i. e. CEOs, military officers etc. or simply because the group decides they are the best suited for leadership i. e. Michael Jordan and Tom Brady. is the last player off the Chicago Bulls bench on par with Michael Jordan? or the last player off the New England Patriots bench on par with Tom Brady?

2.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Why is it "believe in"? You either see and observe something or you don't. Leaders do exist.
00 Reply- 4.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt's impossible to deny the concept of "alpha" or whatever since the concept is present in chimps & other primates that evolved closely with us, we apply it in a much more complex way but we still retain hierarchal structure socially
