My sister had a motive. She wanted to throw her siblings under the bus so that she would be the only one loved by our mother. It was quite pathological and that is why I eliminated her from my life. She stabbed me in the back too many times!

Yes. but I have ways of fishing to find out what these people are up to. If they tell a story, if the facts change or the facts are a little too consistent. they're usually lying, and most people lie for some particular reason. Another one I go by, when they call me and ask for something, but say they have to go or hang up after I'm unable to give them what they want, they had intentions of using me. I don't trust anyone, and my lack of trust hasn't failed me yet!

as time passes by, the "motive" is more and more visible. Just like a zit popping through a teenager's skin.
I had a few with whom I thought it is just unconditional friendship, but at some point they asked for something. And then act butthurt when refused, which led to everything going down the drain.
