Narcissism is a mental illness. Some folks are predisposed to it.
There's also non-clinical narcissim which usually, in my experience, happens when you have someone with unreasonable expectations who spends a long time being catered to by others.
Ohh.. Didn't know thatđŻ thanks for sharing
From what I readâŚtheyâre born with it. Now loving families can bring out the empathetic side.
Same for âpsychopathyâ. I would imagine jet pilots, police, etc have some psychopathic features like not fearing death, or consequences. Of course they choose to turn that into âpro socialâ instead of âanti socialâ.
You become one while developing as a kid. Usually because a parent is one. If you are a 30 year old adult you don't just become a narcissist. A narcissist is mentally ill not something you become outside of being a developing child.
@jahaims so is it like something that a child mimics from their parent, like the need of "perfection" n disliking the bad stuff (thus insecurities) or is it like, the parent actively conditions them into being a "perfectionist/people-pleasing person? (I don't know if I'm framing this right/being insensitive)
"something you can only develop from childhood trauma" yeah the sentence can explain + the word itself.. Like how some phobias/fears develop in childhood.. But still I'll look more into the term cuz I heard it first time.. Thanksđ
