Have you ever been reprimanded for doing the right thing? What happened?

Yeah back when I was younger I worked at a convenience store and some guy left his wallet. Not knowing if he would ever come back or not. And knowing I'd want this done for me. I went into the wallet to see if I could find a way of contacting him. I retrieved a phone number of a woman (that turned out to be his girlfriend). And told her left his wallet at our convenience store and he can come pick it up. He came back a few hrs. later. But instead of what I thought would be a thank you he laid into us verbally because he said we "scared his girlfriend". I was so surprised by the response I couldn't really say anything but, "uh, you're welcome"?

Hmm I don't really remember any situations like this right now. My mother respected my moral sense a lot and she never discouraged me from questioning things or tried to undermine how I felt about a situation. Even if we were going somewhere and I got distracted by helping an animal or something like that she was always very patient and happy about me being concerned about animals. I do think maybe in school or so it did happen but since I can't remember it never had a impact on me.

I think my mother ignored my existence for a day or two when I informed a server they'd missed a drink or something from the bill.

Oh damn yes. All the time in the Navy. Often by people who should have done the right thing so that I didn't have to then do the right thing. 🤦‍♂️ Smh. Having teenagers is easier. (no offense lol)

Yes. but also commended, behind doors sometimes.. it's just tricky doing the right thing because it would take an element of wrong... " for the greater good"  some say

Yes, I "rattled" on my mother coming home drunk on the 23th December to my father and my aunt.  She called me a snitch and grounded me.
