Would you rather have your property and house with fence or without fence?

In my country they are really common. Usually they are 4-5m high. Some even have barbed wire attached.

💡I find strange to see houses in the US and Canada, without any physical barrier that would really protect them.

📌In the picture I show as example you can appreciate what I am talking about.

The poorer class use old or damaged zinc roof. They tend to be 2m high, others half a meter, depending on how they are placed.

Few places I've seen in the U. S. have fenced front yards. Although some have anything from a white, picket fence to a chain link fence. Those are usually to keep their dogs from getting out.

I now live on unfenced acreage in a rural part of California. We have a 4/10 mile long driveway that winds uphill to our house. So that's kind of a barrier in itself. People don't know what they're going to encounter if they drive up to our house.
The only fence we have is a deer fence around our small orchard and raised beds.

Cool! I've been to Mexico several times and most of the houses there have tall walls with broken glass on top. Or the front of the house, itself, is the wall with only a sturdy door.

The drug trade has made many places south of the U. S. border very unsafe. It's a shame.

Broken glasses are also used here. Only thing that's not aloud are electric fences, for obvious reasons.😅

Places with higher crime levels (more corruption and more dysfunctional societies) tend to need more fences. More peaceful and healthy societies and communities don't need fences as much.

I've mostly lived in places that had a small fence around the front yard, but I have seen yards without the front fence and to me they look better

I've never thought about that because I've always lived in apartments. Since you're asking, I'm going to say that I prefer it with a fence.
