Why do people feel autistic children should be aborted?

Like it’s so evil and hateful but I even had a girl break up with me because of the prospect of having autistic children. So I’m autistic myself and I think what’s different about this mindset then what was happening in the 1950s. It’s like people don’t give them a chance at life when historically people on the spectrum are extremely gifted in terms of talent. So why count them out and why just decide that their life doesn’t matter or that they aren’t worth it because there’s unlimited potential there that god has blessed people on the spectrum with. I took so many much bullying and hate as a kid due to my unusual behaviors but once I tapped into my potential I was even suprised. I learned about it when I was going to my university because one of my psychology professors stated she enjoyed reading my research papers.

People need to understand that abortion is just barely about the child in itself, it’s about the adult and what they may or may not want to handle. Having an autistic child is not for the weak , actually being a parent in general is not for the weak. You don’t know this person and what they are capable and incapable of and what they want out of life, and sometimes children just do not fit what someone wants out of life. I’ll never understand why people take so personal what others want out of life. There’s women literally getting abortions right now and you are still living your life and doing just exactly what you do everyday

And this is coming from someone that has adhd. I know my adhd is hard to put up with. Anyone that stays around for it , is a blessing but it’s a lot to handle and I understand if people can’t handle it. It’s just life. Gotta value people that want to stay around for your imperfections

I’m not stating about if she could handle the child cause you’re absolutely right they are a lot of responsibility. But it’s not that when I hear people talk about aborting them it’s from a social perspective it’s being seen or being the parent of an autistic child it’s like they would have a sense of shame. I’m not combating abortions or the argument about abortions what I’m combating is the ongoing hate and discrimination against individuals with disabilities they are seen as less or deserve a lesser quality of life.

People will always hate on something, personally I think having a disability is an advantage. You really figure out who is around to stay and you end up with people that truly care for you around you, and you weed the people that don’t. Just gotta learn to cherish the people around you more often. Give those people a hug.

Why would the girl waste your time if she knew you were autistic? Sounds stupid of her. like if one parent is autistic the child is more likely going to also have autism what does she expect? Do

No. Period. Besides, autism spectrum is not detectable in the womb.
