This is neither new or surprising, both sides are guilty, yes I said it, 'both sides", as Democrats were guilty of this during the 2016 Primary. This is why we need a national voters rights act, that when you turn18, your automatically registered to vote as non party affiliate, with the option to register with a party which you can't be removed from unless you decide to do so you're self.

There's a massive difference between a party stopping people from voting in a primary, which is their business, and the state stopping people from voting in an upcoming election or referendum. Only Republicans (in at least Georgia and Ohio, in Florida they worked to nullify the results of a referrendum that allowed ex-felons to vote) do the latter, or do you have a counter-example?

Urban vs. rural, perhaps? I don't know they're targeted at Democrats, but it does seem likely. Maybe just people who haven't voted for a while are more likely to turn out to defend democracy.

yeah its a number of factors... and unsurprisingly race is one of them. they've been attempting to gerrymander certain districts that are majority black because they mostly vote democrat. definitely not an accident.
