Because of a different mindset. The problem that seperates political right and left parties is a difference in values and mindset therefore what seems as a good argument might be seem like bullshit to another person since there original question is different.
To you the end of the Roe vs Wade is a problem is because it limits personal freedom since women can´t have sex without consequences anymore or at least not that easy.
For a political conservative person that´s not less of interest for them the interest is in responsibility and continuity of life as it always has been.
Society of any nation is progressing nonetheless it´s therefore not the case that America has been taken backwards it´s just getting things more complicated.

Someone anti-intellectual and doesn't value education has hard time thinking critically and being able to tell what is bullshit and what is not.
