Since no one knows that you are exchanging an item and they can't verify that it is really an exchange, you are at risk or being accused of shoplifting. Suppose I take pair of pants back and I put the prior purchase back on the rack and I get a different one.
The security camera will probably not have enough detail for me to prove that what I returned was the same item. I could have returned a $10 pair of pants and walked out with a $50 pair.
I remember when I worked at Macy's and saw the amount of returns people did.. It's probably a blessing and curse as most technology is Paris..
Thanks, @Joshydavid25 For Having My "No Return" Back in Taking back. lol!!! xxoo
Hahaha.. Of course Paris.. And thank you for MHO!
Sure I returned some used chewing tobacco for new. Got a little messy but they didn't complain.
Maybe I'll try it and see if I can get away with it lol

I've not ever tried it, but isn't that an old idea? Isn't that why some shoes stores will only put one shoe of at least the more expensive items on display so you have to pay to get the other. I've heard lots of stories of people going in stores and taking of their old shoes and putting them in the box and leaving the store with new shoes on.
Yes, and one time when I did it store security wanted to arrest me.
Yes, I bought an item that was the wrong size. i took it back to the store which was about to go out of business. They told me that there was no exchanges. I told the guy that I was going to go back and exchange it anyway. Just as I walked over to the right department two security guys grabbed ne. I shook them off and told them to keep their hands off me. They told me that if I did not leave the store they were calling the cops.
No I'm black. The Karen manager would get me shot by police.
I thought you had to go to customer service when exchanging something? No?
So what did you do exactly? If you didn't bother with them? I'm so confused 😕
No with my luck I would be accused of stealing.
I never did that because I would get in trouble but I guess you can now since it’s a free for all and they don’t do anything if you steal either these days
Yeah but to them it would look like it because they wouldn’t know you brought it in
No, but I have gotten the new thing myself and then brought both to customer service.
I did it once just to exchange cookie flavors a couple decades ago.
I always go through customer service for the paperwork. They tell me to go get the item and bring it back to them.
No; I have never done that. I didn't know that was possible.
I would strongly advise you to not do that again! Just giving you advice as a friend! 🧡
lol!!! Thanks, @Jamie05rhs I PROMISE!!! xxoo
Okay! 🙂👍
But what if it cost a little more or a little less then what do you do
Just seems like you're kicking the can down the road, by doing this you are making it someone else's problem that customer service will have to deal with anyway
I did not know that I could do it.
I have more respect for policy than that
To be fair though Walmart no longer has real customer service anyway
Nope, is that legal?
