How are military veterans treated in other countries beside the US?

Like normal people. No one gives them free access or discounts to certain places, nor do they demand them. And no one is constantly thanking them for their service. No one makes them out to be better or more valuable than anyone else, and on the flip side they don't have a sense of superiority or entitlement either, nor do they expect it. Surely they have benefits, but in terms of coming back to civilian society, they're treated no better nor no worse than plumbers or doctors. It's just seen as another job. Only Conservative Americans seems to have such an infatuation with military people, and American veterans have become too entitled and whiney. What they already have is not enough anymore. They think they should have EVERYTHING for free and the rules shouldn't apply to them. I can still understand if they were drafted, then I 100% support compensation (though they should also be happy with what they have). But the post Vietnam veterans who enlisted by their own free will have no right to demand anything. I have no problem with things like the GI Bill or Healthcare, but do they really need free camping and discounts at restaurants?
in u. k. also only talk but veterans also ignored in streets, despite they gave more than other homeless.

At least I have heard no specific complaints. Active soldiers can use military housing and hospitals, veterans switch back to regular public healthcare providers and the social systems, if needed.
I don't know, but in some countries like South Korea where conscription is pretty much universal just about every male has been in the military so I assume they don't put much emphasis on it.
