It's going to happen regardless of what we want. That's the nature of humans. Our curiosity and desire to leave a mark on the world is uncontrollable. Most scientists or people that develop anything have the belief "If we don't invent or discover it, someone else will". So they make it their life's work to make it happen.

As for my opinion, it's a definite NO for me. It should never be legal. Once we get into the realm of artificial life, life will have less and less meaning. And once cloning technology progresses and people are able to choose what traits they want their kids to have physically and mentally, everyone will literally be the same, because we'll all be made in the picture of perfection. The beauty about life is all the variety and imperfections.

I agree to the extent that we should be allowed to clone our organs so if an organ dies you have a guaranteed replacement.

It's only a question of time with negative birth rates in developed countries. Immigration from third world seems to be a fail and developed countries will start clone people sooner or later. Of course eugenics will appear as option after some humanistic promises to soothe the pleb. Some small amount of embryos will be modified to be super humans but majority will be modified as working slaves with limited mental abilities

I believe we will be growing replacement organs in the lab in less than 10 years. The Rich will be able to give tissue samples to grow them. I support that.
