I see old wrinkly women in their 40s and 50s thinking they are 20. It creeps me out.
It used to bother me but as I talked with more older people and simply observed them and while observing my aging parents, I seen and noticed many of them don’t feel “old” or like they should change what they usually like. Some when they were younger loved to follow trends so you see them following that as they age. Newest iPhone. They know how to use!
My dad said recently he couldn’t believe sometimes how he looked. Seeing himself in a photo, he had a brief moment of wondering who that “old guy” was, but didn’t feel that was him.
Another guy I used to talk to said he still felt he was in his 30s while being double that.
Especially if they’re adaptive and social and talk and are able to hold conversations with younger demographics, then they don’t get outdated too much. The only thing is they may like stuff we may not have heard of and such. Or stuff before our time.
I just let them be. Age is just a number, not so much a mindset u til later, later, and it doesn’t affect everybody.
Just cause someone IS and older age doesn’t mean they have to dress like it or fit a stereotype. Though some may 🤷♀️. It really depends. I’d say 1% are acting. Some are just being themselves. The 1% are the ones who refuse to age so they just do stuff that isn’t really like them. They adopt younger and newer stuff and maybe childish stuff. But who are we to judge? 🤷♀️ I may do the same when I get to that age. I don't know how I’ll think then, but I’m confident I’ll just continue to be myself 😂.
Being self means sometimes being constant and unchanged or slightly changed, but following trends is what changes people. They assume that means being young so they always need the latest stuff. Instead of sticking to what has always worked for them.

Ok, so the facts are that folks in their 50s-70s, let’s say, are constantly encouraged to keep up physical activity and diet and social activities to stay fit and healthy. (It helps prevent certain health issues, Emory loss, etc etc etc.) Some people naturally still LOOK under 50, so while they may SEEM like they’re acting younger than they are, it’s simply accidental bc they’re well-preserved.
Having said this, folks in their 40s (and higher) shouldn’t DRESS like they’re still in their 20s, pretend they can still poach partners in their early 20s, etc etc. Grow up a little. There’s lots to do with folks your age.02 Reply- 1 y

Yeah. I just met a guy recently who acts like he’s still capable of poaching a 20-25yo and he looks like tales from the crypt (though he claims to be a year or so younger than me). Personally, no matter how many times you color your hair or inject or fill whatever… it looks fake and like you’re trying too hard, which is unattractive.
Hemlines for women SHOULD be slightly more conservative (max a hand’s length above the knee if she’s trying to wear a cute short item)… but then again that’s also my recommendation for women anyway bc I’m conservative. 🤷🏻♀️ Very skimpy tops/bottoms need to be retired after age 40… and gradually revamping the wardrobe every 5 years till your wardrobe is “tastefully sexy” rather than “trying too hard.”
Guys do this too — the speedos need to be retired from public view after age 50 (max)… the exception is if you’re working on your tan in the privacy of your own home. (I’m saying this I know I’m still going to get an eyesore my first day on the beach… uuugh.)

1 yYou know it shouldn't creep me out, but it does.
Usually when that happens it means that it's caused by an instinct. So I suspect there is some underlying instinct that comes from nature that makes me (and others) feel that way. I can't immediately identify what that instinct might be, but if I had time to give it some thought I'm sure I could.
Most likely has to do with reproduction as most of these instincts do since reproduction is nature's most important value. Maybe something to do with the fact that the older woman is not fertile and is impersonating a woman who is.
That may not be exactly it but offhand it seems like it might be pretty close.

1 yGet a grip , wrinkly old women in their 40’s & 50’s ? These women ARE STILL YOUNG. You should remember that getting older is a privilege.. Not a right !!
Anyone dislike immature women who act like they are the only ones allowed to have fun?11 Reply- 1 y
Well… on the one hand, if a woman looks super wrinkly in her 40-50s NOW it’s usually the sign of poor lifestyle or a massive health issue. Vitamins and medical care are way better now than ever.
On the other hand, I’d rather have a few wrinkles than ever get cosmetic work done. That looks scary to me — esp the Botox “hanger in the mouth” look people insist on getting to erase little wrinkles around their mouths? Pfft. Disaster.

10 Reply636 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. So what's wrong if they act "20" if 20 year olds can be mature? And what about the 20 year olds that act like immature teenagers (always partying with no responsibilities? There are many)
They're not doing anything wrong as long as they are mature, they don't have to change their personality for anyone.
I still watch anime even though I'm an adult, and I'm not asking nor care for anyone's opinion about that. Nor will I stop watching something I enjoy as I get older (when I reach my 30's or 40's) for something as stupid as what others may think.
Don't worry, you'll get to their age sooner than you think too.
21 ReplyI don’t dislike any woman who is simply being herself, wearing what she wants to and living her life as she chooses. My guess is they’re in that sweet spot where children are grown, they have worked and have a healthy amount of wealth to use and more free time.
I am 51. I don’t have wrinkles. I dress in clothes that suit me and have a young outlook. My children love my stylish edgy dress sense. That doesn’t mean I act childishly or am immature. I can’t help having good genes. My mum looks 20 years younger than she is and dresses well. She needn’t be in flowery dresses and cardigans, just because you would prefer it! At this age she, or myself don’t need to please anyone except ourselves and we no longer gaf what other people think. Live and let live.10 ReplyI remember this 41 yr old woman I had a thing with for a very short time act like she was that young...
She would slide down in a chair to where her ass was in the air, but her head was where ur ass should go on a chair while she was texting someone and smiling.
She would hop around when we would go for a run like she was a little girl because she was so excited.
Maybe it was because she was hanging out with me... Not sure.
But when she wanted to act like a grown woman, she did and was a completely different person.
It was kind of cute... But, I really disliked how quick she would act like a different person at random... Which was one of a few reasons why I ended it.
Good riddance :).
I wouldn't mind an older woman acting like she's in her 20s, but just pick a personality, don't fluctuate between acting young and then just like that, act like a grown 'im a responsible adult' personality.22 Reply- 1 y
Maybe that was her type of silly and then she knew when business was to be taken care of. My mom was sometimes similar but in different ways. Like random food fight but then give advice about jobs and resume. She had a lot of wisdom but a pure heart. Maybe it’s cause she’s my mom and I already knew her from kid to adult that I could accept her for that. She didn’t make too many long term friends easily, but she’s woman of high stature and heart of gold. I think (but that’s just me being a stranger and my humble opinion anyhow) you should’ve given her a shot.
Maybe easier to befriend someone that way then to date them or marry them ig. My mom isn’t too sexual with my dad either. Sometimes they good off and stuff but it’s never porno stuff. Maybe for some guys being hot and heavy with a woman like that could be a weird brain thing or ruin the vibe/flow. I don't know 🤷♀️
1 yYes! My ex’s aunt is in her late 50s pushing early 60s and she still moves and dates around like as if she’s in her 30s. I find it to be absolutely ridiculous especially because she’s already a great grandma.

1 yThe midlife crisis isn’t just for men anymore. Unfortunately, you are in the minority. Older women who refuse to act their age are glorified for “living their best life” and being brave & empowered.
Meanwhile, men doing the same things are cringey at best; usually creepy and gross. They always have been.11 Reply- 1 y

Sorry must have missed the entire rule book about how people must act like boring old hags and give up on anything fun when they hit a certain age 🙄
1 yWhen someone talks about older folks acting like they’re in their 20’s, I usually end up thinking of drunk partying in which case my response is “alcoholism doesn’t have an age limit.”
It’s either that or just people enjoying stuff that young people just also happen to like. In which case, why get mad about someone being happy?00 Reply

1 yIt depends. An older woman who still has a lot of energy and likes to go out and do things makes me optimistic.
a woman who’s 40 and acts like she’s 25 makes me think she did too many hard drugs as a kid
07 Reply- 1 y
I am talking about the latter
@Red_Arrow there’s a difference between coming across as young because of your physical characteristics at a given age vs coming across as young because you’re always loud, talking too much, annoying and generally immature.
When you do hard drugs too much it has the effect of sort of locking your brain at that age.- 1 y
@Telekinetic-Potato Nobody said anything about being loud, talking too much, or being annoying or immature. The only things mentioned were still enjoying doing things they have always done, learning new things like the newest phone, keeping physically active for their health. These are all positive things.
@Red_Arrow umm maybe on someone else’s reply, I’m just giving my opinion to the question from my personal perspective.
When someone says a 40 year old woman acting young, I think of one of two personality types and after being asked, I expanded on them.
I think you might have your replies mixed up@Red_Arrow I don't know , I’m confused what you’re taking issue with. I feel like this was a pretty direct answer to the original question

1 yYes, or no, it depends on how much they’re doing it how they’re doing it and why they’re doing it there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be young everyone wants to be young but if you are delusional and believe that you are when you’re clearly not that’s the issue

1 yNo. Feeling young is great, so I'd never blame them. I'm almost 25 and I don't even feel that age. I might be 18 mentally at best, but no clue, still could be 12. But I do whatever I need to do, so it's fine with me.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yThere's a line. As long as she doesn't cross it she's OK. If 20 you mean showing far too much skin, overly flirtatious, etc. Then yeah, that's creepy AF. But I woman thats like in her 40's or 50's that likes going to concerts, music festivals etc. I consider to just be full of life and fun loving.
Getting older doesn't mean you have to stop having fun. Getting older just mean being able to balance it with responsibilities.
