In principle, they should be. But some states will be close, turn out will be high, and if states insist on manual on doing everything manually, they’ll need more time… Although the perception that automated/electronic voting is inaccurate is based on a false premise that has already been debunked. If Trumpty Dumpties don’t want to know the results on election night, they should say that and state electoral commissions need to start managing expectations and explain why the count will take longer.

I don't expect any of the networks to be making definite projections on election night. The preliminary results should be available the following morning, with confirmation within a week.

If the election is really close, there will be some court cases in some states, by both sides, which could delay final results by a few weeks.

I think both sides will be throwing out challenges to the results and that it will be resolved by the house, then that decision will likely go to court anyway. Our country is so divided right now I would barely believe it if you made it a dystopian video game setting in the 90's.

Now, this is based on 2020 because the Pandemic really slowed down mail, limited contact between poll workers & they had to constantly be following Covid19 prevention protocol, and there were mail in votes along with in person so they had to count then make sure the machine counts were accurate by hand counting again, etc. Voting took awhile due to the unprecedented situation so, I don’t think it will take a week though depending if there is a spike in Covid cases in certain areas it could prove difficult. Just a thought, don’t panic!

I would say several days to one week. There are a lot of states that are so close like Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada. If she wins NC, Georgia, Pennsylvania, she got the White House. This will be a close election, and she requested another debate Oct 23, on CNN and inviting Trump if he has any balls.

With Georgia hand counting it could be a long time to see the results if things are close. Our country will be tense af if this happens.

Truump will lose and all of the MAGA will be crying and trhreatening and it will take a long time to get votes certified.
