To the people that associate themselves with the political right, what is your perception of a liberal?
And which way do you lean on most issues?

I don't really have a clear perception of conservative or liberal anymore because of how rapidly things have changed in this country. I used to consider myself a centrist. But the way the Right has gone in the past few years, others would probably view me as a "flaming liberal," maybe even radical. I don't see myself that way. And, the funny thing is, both sides view themselves as concerned for the rights of the individual, although they utilize very different vocabulary and, when you get down to brass tacks, each side would go about things in very different ways.
I honestly can't see, at this point, HOW to meet in the middle. My beliefs encompass various aspects of both Red and Blue. And I think the biggest impediment to finding a middle ground is that we seem to have lost the art of civil debate that has always been the American way of resolving things. As a society, we have devolved to name calling and shouting over each other instead of listening and responding in a rational way.
I guess to describe myself, at least, since I can't describe either "side," I would have to say I am Purple.
I'd like to have some civil discussion/debate with you and see what we agree and disagree on, because all in all, I believe we all have more in common with each other than we have differences
@Lightbringer_Samael Kind of weird... I wrote a fairly long reply to you and I don't see it anywhere. Oh well. I'm too lazy tonight to write it out again! lol Thanks for your "civil" reply to my post!!
I'm more in the center of the political aisle, taking things from both sides and supporting it. I think the conservative side has lost it's way becoming a cult for one narcissistic asshole and the radical left takes things a bit too far on their side as well. I liked it better when both sides could disagree but ultimately make deals as a bipartisan effort.
I have always be a centrist/independent. The most fitting party (Zentrum) does not exist anymore, but since all governments since 1945 have been coalition governments, the voters usually get a variety of conservative and progressive policies implemented.
The best description I've read in a while is (paraphrasing) Conservatives believe and act according to what they think is right. Liberals believe and act according to what they think the people around them will think is right.
I refer back to one Dan Bongino, who said that the best way to see it is: conservatives think liberals are people with bad ideas. Liberals think conservatives are bad people with ideas

I used to be pretty moderate but the democrats have gotten so crazy that I had to pick a side.
I see progressives as over-educated and under-informed. There is also a current of smug effete superiority, with a dash of hypocrisy..
Conservatives tend to make decisions based on logic while liberals make decisions based on emotion.
