It's extremely sad, but that's what happens when you have a media that refuses to do its job with integrity. The selective skepticism and selective critical thought is incredibly creepy; it has nothing to do with the facts, it's all about whatever the person thinks is convenient.
I was just having a conversation with a woman who I would generally consider intelligent, but she's one of these people who hates Trump and that's the end of the conversation. She will happily and readily accept whatever the Democrat party line tells her. The instant anything has to do with Trump, she'll dig her heels in and split hairs as finely as she needs to make sure Trump stays the bad guy.
I've only met a few people who do that in the opposite direction, but of course they are out there.
Between A and B. It's good to have a two party system in that it forces candidates to moderate quite a lot. In countries with multiple parties you'll end up with fascist and communist parties. In the US for example you'd likely end up with a black supremacist party, maybe a white supremacist one, but I find that more dubious. When both parties have to fight over the majority in the middle they tend to moderate, although I find this to be tough to believe at this moment in time. So it's almost always going to be voting against someone. It'd be nice if there was some great unifier that could pull everyone together, but I doubt that could really happen. Maybe a revolutionary figure like Washington is the only one that could.
Voting is like deciding if you want Prince Andrew or Jeffrey Epstein to babysit the kids.
I think it's time we scraped the concept of left and right and people filled out a form to indicate how important various issues were to them, eg immigration 1-10 with 1 being let them all in and 10 being kick them all out and build a wall.
