Why is hyperinflation and the economy (generally) a lesser priority for women vs men?

Given I am a man I know my views on abortion are inherently biased to a certain extent. I will never have to worry about carrying a child to term and delivering a baby. I acknowledge that.

But still abortion law can directly impact me. For example if I got a woman pregnant I don’t want to have kids with I could be stuck paying child support. Or if it’s a woman I do want to have kids with then I would be left powerless and devastated if she decided to terminate the pregnancy. It’s not like women’s choice has no impact on men. But that’s another deep topic. But I am so sick of women saying “it’s my body and none of your business” like abortion laws have zero impact on men. They do.

But getting to hyperinflation and the economy. The economy and hyperinflation impact everything for virtually everybody. Especially if you are working class and just trying to get by. But compared to abortion this seems to be a lesser concern for many female voters. Why? My theories are the following:

  • Well educated women who make high salaries aren’t as drastically impacted by hyperinflation hence don’t really care
  • Women are more likely to expect to be “taken care of” financially whether it be boyfriend, spouse, family, etc.
  • Women are more reliant on the government than men for tax payer funded entitlement programs and/or they have greater expectations that the government will help them in tough times.

Whatever your beliefs are when it comes to abortion the economy/hyperinflation is an issue that inescapable for most people. You can get on birth control to avoid an unwanted abortion. But you there is no contraceptive for hyperinflation and the economy.

That’s not to say abortion law can’t be major priority for you. But making that a higher priority than the economy and hyperinflation is just ridiculous. And Trump explicitly said he does NOT want a nationwide abortion ban. So sick of that bullshit myth.

The gender gap for men vs women was identical. 54% of men voted for Trump and 54% of women voted for Kamala. That’s not a big difference in either direction.

The gender divide actually nowhere near as bad as people predicted.
