Do you actually feel sad/sorry for high functioning psychopaths?

Those are the ones that never committed crimes. You won't see them in prison but find them in fields like CEO, law enforcement or even hospitals (a stoic surgeon for instance). They redirect that lack of empathy and guilt into majors that require acting pragmatic, developed social skills and adequate problem solving; a ''business-like'' approach.

If they were really born with different brain functions and structions, do you actually feel sad/sorry for them? In that case, it's not their fault they were born differently.

Essentially they were born with a brain defect. The area in the brain (located somewhere in the forehead) that's responsible for empathy, guilt, etc is lacking. They sure didn't ask to be born like that.

They don't become psychopaths. They're born with a detective brain. Brain scans have proven their brains are differently wired than ours. A large portion of the area in the brain responsible for empathy, guilt, anxiety is missing.

For that very reason. They were born abnormal so it's not really their fault for being unable to feel empathy and guilt.

I wish there was a solution. I was just finished reading a post about a woman that's wondering why she can't never feel guilt for cheating on her boyfriend, never feel grief when a close family member dies. She hasn't committed crimes but she just lacks empathy and has asked what's it like to feel those feelings many people feel. Part of me wants to believe a couple of them might not even be happy being born like that.

yeah it would be great they know they lack empathy but just mind their own business or live as a lone hermit that refuses to associate with people... then no one would care if they have a disorder
