As of now, there’s believed to be a team vote coming as to whether to not they want to attend this time, so we’ll see how it plays out. I understand the Eagles owner is not a fan of Trump’s either.

@WhiteSteve Trump is a very wealthy man that lives on a different planet than I do. Still his policies align more closely with my beliefs than any other president in my lifetime. MAGA is the normal American viewpoint. Law and Order, secure borders, strong military, good jobs, lower taxes, no men in woman's sports, and being respected on the world stage.
It is the right of everyone to refuse to stand for the National Anthem. It is also the right of the team owner to trade them.

@Max3205 it’s hard to quantify a number. I don’t know how much is needed relative to how much I have to give.

The point is more that close to 160 MILLION people pay income tax (and this isn’t counting revenue from sales taxes and property taxes and capital gains taxes and yadda yadda yadda…. JUST federal income tax alone), so one single penny from each of is good for $160M in funds.

I have very little trust that DOGE is going to be honest in the first place, they WANT the answer to be “THE DEMOCRATS ARE CORRUPT!”, that’s more the point of this than saving money, getting that headline out. They know Americans are selfish pieces of shit who will pitch a fit at the idea of helping others. That’s really just a national character problem that they’re exploiting. We have bad citizens, and they know it.

And the saved money, by the way, is to get Elon and friends tax cuts, much more so than you or I. They’ll benefit A LOT, at best, we’ll benefit a little (monetarily, maybe not societally), and they’ll tell you it’s best that way. Reaganomics Part Two…. and Part One is a big part of why the American economy is as disparate as it is today compared to when America was allegedly “great.”

Bottom line is that “because money”, in the richest nation in the world, should never be the reason that we don’t do the right things from a human standpoint.

The whole drag Queen thing is a wildly overblown and manufactured issue to start with, so it’s hard to really discuss in earnest. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with drag queens. All part of “freedom.” I also just generally endorse anything that fosters LGBTQ people because people treat them like shit, unprovoked and unwarranted, so I consider them a targeted group that needs a lot of governmental protection, because again, we have a national character problem in our citizenry. This mostly boils down to a majority of Americans being bad people with deplorable values, much more so than how we pay for anything.

I’ve done lots of calculations based on the alleged donations, and it keeps coming back to a maximum of four dollars and change per person, if we went by using the probably-lower-than-today 2022 stats of 153.8M total American income tax payers as a divisor. In some cases it’s been like 47 cents, depends on what numbers I’m being given to come up with the dividend for the equation. But in any case, it’s less than coffee and a donut if we all chip in. I’d rather look good during beach season and help someone else out.

I feel like you think this is all going to swing your tax returns and turn into thousands of dollars for you, and I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry about your belief in that.

So…happy to answer, but I need to know how much money is being asked. I don’t look at my tax money by “what if I could pay taxes a la carte, just pay for things I personally like”, I’m an adult, lmfao. That’s elementary-school brained shit.

How much do they need? A hundred bucks per person is probably overkill for what they need, but if someone asked me for $100 donation for it as charity, I’d do it and wouldn’t even write it off my taxes. That’s how I like to do good in the world. But if it’s anything like my calculations, I’m happy to pay for my four dollars it’s been taking, PLUS your share if you’re THAT hard up.
