What's are some unwritten "rules" that don't seem to apply anymore that are NOT etiquette related?

Inspired by an exchange with an unnamed moron who unsolicited said I should let the car warm up before driving it. Told them that's outdated boomer, modern cars don't have carburetors and it's synthetic oil now. He didn't like my answer. Should've told him GFY!

Also, my local library doesn't charge late fines anymore which I admit I still haven't internalized yet.

Not sure but the only reason to let your car warm up in the morning is if it's frosty and your windscreen needs defrosted.

Unwritten rules that don't seem to apply? Maybe wearing white to a wedding or showing cleavage at a funeral (especially if you've a giant pair), same with really shotlrts dresses or skin tight leggings where everyone can see your butt crack.

Talking over someone who is speaking or shouting down someone because you don't like their opinions.

Saying please and thank you

Being mannerly to waiters and waitresses and anyone else that's providing you a service.

If someone tells you a secret keep it.

Keep your vows and promises, don't make one if you can't.

Don’t lend out what you borrowed. If it is not yours, don’t act as if it is.

If you borrow money from someone, return it, even before they ask for it.

If someone does you a favour return it when you can

If they will cheat *with* you, then they will cheat *on* you.

Don't propose at someone else's wedding

Don't video or photograph others without their consent or post folks in embarrassing situations. You often see entitled influencers posting and harassing people on social media against their will. It's the done thing now but it never used to be.

in Texas, though... you let the car on for a little bit not for the engine to warm up

but for the interior of your car to go from 140F degrees down to a survivable temperature first... then you get the AC going, lmao

Sometimes when it is really cold outside I let my truck warm up in my driveway for 5 minutes. That way the heat is working.
