In most states here in the US it is not only illegal to have sex with a minor, but it is considered rape. That baffles me.

If I had sex with an adult a year ago, the law would have seen that as rape, and I find that utterly ridiculous. 17 may be inexperienced and make retarded decisions, but that doesn't mean they can't make them. Make it illegal if you want, but it's not rape no matter how you roll the dice

If a man wears a hat into church, someone will be tapping them on the shoulder within SECONDS to remind them to take it off, or they'll just take if off for them. But the Bible clearly says that women should cover their heads when they pray but NO ONE will tell a woman to put on a hat?

Another is that males are expected to do the approaching and asking out. Single life would be so much easier if the one who is less shy would to the approaching regardless of gender.

I think it was due to something back in rhe early or mid 1800's. When people might have been wearing shirts or dresses wi th those big puffy sleeves. Which then could either get dirty with food from either your own plate or you neighbors. Or the sleeves could knock over glasses. Im not really sure. This is just a guess

As for social rules that baffle me: for my life, I don't understand why asking someone how much they earn would be so rude! I mean assuming that you aren't harping on the person's money, who cares if you want to ask how much someone makes?
