Yes, companies sell goods to Americans because they can sell them cheaper. If there is a tariff , then the product is no longer cheaper unless the manufacturing company absorbs the tariff. For example, Canada put a 1000% tariff on American dairy products. It was a long time ago but I can still remember American farmers dumping thousand of gallons of milk down the storm drain because it was too expensive to send to Canada. I was pretty little when this happened and I really did not understand it but I can still remember it.
China can still sell steel to America , however if it is no longer cheaper than American made steel nobody will buy it since American steel is better. China has to absorb the tariff or else they will not sell any.

@OddBeMe There is a container ship larger than 3 football fields. It travels back and forth between China and the Port of Los Angeles. It comes to America almost awash in cheaply made Chinese products and goes back to China practically empty. I always thought that there was something wrong with that picture. I am glad we have a president that sees things my way.

Not everyone should go to college. A lot of the ciu try has been decimated by entire industries being shipped overseas. I sometimes find it impossible to buy everything made in America. There are no TVs being made here

College is not for everybody. There were many places that would allow a blue collar worker you have a middle class life. Those jobs all got shipped overseas by shortsighted politicians.
I always thought there should be a stupidity tax for people who did not support their own economy by buying foreign made goods.
I go liut of my way to buy goods made in USA. I have a lot of my original power tools and appliances I got when i had my house built almost 30 years ago. All stuff made in USA.
