One reason is: It's all rigged. Look into "black pools" which are secret stock trading systems only accessed by the super rich and powerful corporations. They trade stocks in an unregulated secret environment where they keep the prices secret and hidden from the market the regular people (suckers) get to use. Recently we hit a point where more than half of the stocks out there are in the secret systems. And before the usual suspects accuse me of lying: the SEC once fined black pools almost $100 million but the secret fund runners just laughed because they make way more than that.

It was predicted that as the secret pools get bigger the public stock market would become less stable.

Uncertainties. That's all it is. I mean yes we've been long overdue for a correction so a dip was inevitable. But it's usually more predictable than this even in a dip. And it's acting and overreacting to news that is coming out by the hour of on again off again tariffs.
