How is it possible that stock market Dow Jones is almost at 50,000? Even with the change in administrations during, and since, coronavirus market dip?

In 2020 the market did fall. Ironically, before coronavirus, in 2019 some could've speculated "oh surely a recession or market crash is due any day" however that's the same as me saying that today or any day. Nobody knows. Duh 🙄 🙄😋

This is just a amusement question. Can the Dow really hit 50k? It's almost there - it's hovering around 46k to 48k the last month or so hasn't it? October 2025 this question asked.

There's a reason why Warren Buffet is sitting on $350B in cash reserves. He hates when is money isn't making money but him and a lot of big investors are sitting on the sidelines. Today there's some profit taking in tech and money is moving into other sectors which reverses a trend but there's still more buyers than sellers for now so until people start needing cash and start selling, it should keep going up.

He has repeatedly said stock are overpriced right now and he's been selling high. While 3 indexes are going up, the majority of stocks are going down and are now trading below their 20 and 50 day moving averages. The Russell (small cap index) was down 2% this week. Lots of mixed signals.

@FunkyMonkee lol under Biden it also had its graph skyrocketing moments 📈📈📈📈 and some times Biden would even reference the stock market - in comments - strange though we don't hear DJT mention Dow Jones or SP 500 too often if at all - have you? I for one couldn't recall anytime this year I've heard DJT or read an attributed DJT quote mention Dow Jones. Or SP 500 or stock market.
