If he was the only one doing it then it'd be a problem. The real issue is he doesn't give a crap about the artist's politics - he just likes the songs.

I haven't stopped listening to many musicians or boycotting movies because I disagree with the artist's politics - although De Niro is getting close.

I'm not saying they aren't entitled to their political opinion. I love Schwarzenegger movies but I was surprised he's a Democrat. Big deal.

If I boycotted every artist who has said something politically I disagree with I'd probably have to start writing my own music again. Same with movies.

My issue is if a song is in the Public Domain - that specific recording is over a certain age - then anyone can access it and use it. If not, then it needs permission and royalties must be paid.

That goes for the Leftists as well.

If you produce music as a product but you refuse to let Trump use it because he's a Republican, you forfeit your "right" to demand a Christian baker make a cake for a gay wedding or a Christian-owned Venue refuse service to gay couples for the ceremony.

Okay so, I believe a politician can use any song they want for their campaign however they should morally be contracted to listen whether or not the artist wants their song to be used at the rally or venue.

Like if I was someone who didn’t like my non political messages being used by politicians regardless of my views - I should be allowed to revoke the use of the song in question. Secondly, if my song conveyed a specific political talking point and was being misappropriated then I have a right to revoke their use of the song.

Trump when he introduced RFK Jr. to the stage he used a song labeling him ‘My Hero’ when the song in question was written as a love letter to everyday people, since Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl looked up to common people more than celebrities. Foo Fighters went on to say they never gave the clear for the Trump Campaign to use their song without their permission. Not in good taste Trump chose that song to tribute RFK Jr. just for endorsing his campaign for President and I’d hardly call any politician ‘common people’ especially since Trump was a celebrity for ‘The Apprentice’.
