Would you or these protestors support a full audit of the government followed by efficiency improvements?

This is just not a good representation of what our country should be, is it? I hope the whole worlds isn't laughing at us... but they should be.

Not particularly, no. The whole idea of this massive auditing of the entire government is just pure middle manager bullshit. Its not about the person in charge of DOGE, its the entire mission statement.

For example, the government is not a corporation. There needs to be a lot of slack capacity and redundancies at every level. If for example a catastrophe happens or God forbid war is declared we can't have people wait around for the government to find a lease for a new office so that they can hire more staff or whatever. The government is one of the least efficient organizations in the world, by design, and in return it is supposed to be exceptionally adaptable and durable.

Anything you ask of the government to do, they should be able to achieve for you. If I wanted 500 expert opinions on rock crabs for whatever reason, then the government needs to be able to provide that to me in a very short amount of time. That is not something that can be accomplished if you "trim the fat" with DOGE or whatever people think it is actually doing.

DOGE is trying to treat the country like a corporation, missing the part where corporations go bankrupt and fail all the time which is not acceptable for a nation. It is a really, really, reeeeallllyyy stupid idea and it shows that you do not understand what the government is at a very fundamental level.

And this is not even going into all the actual reasons for why it is stupid such as how big of a security vulnerability it is or how much money it wastes or whatever.

That claim does not even make any real sense. Countries are not people and money does not mean the same thing to them, and especially for USA as the worlds super power. USA is not broke and realistically can't become broke either through any normal way. There will always be more money for USA to conjure up, the question is simply the burden it adds to the system.

Simply put, USA is nowhere near its limits. In fact, its arguable that USA can gain benefits from having a large debt although its obviously not all good regardless. USA is still rich enough to have its cake and eating it without any real consequences, there is no reason to pick and choose one of them.

And you are missing the point. This is not optional, its required. A government can't function in the way DOGE is trying to structure it. There is nothing to argue about here.

No of course not. But it wouldn't give people like Bernie Sanders the ability to raise the spectre of the rich boogeyman making a deal for all his rich buddies. Most billionaires don't even like Elon Musk. What buddies! Musk has put his own company on the chopping block for the American people. His own company wants him to step down because of what 50% public perception is doing to it. You can't run a successful business if your poison to half of the public

Is DOGE good for Musk? of course it is. But it's good for everyone. There's a reason Musk is as rich as he is. He sees a need and he wants to fill it. You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs. Some people are going to be hurt by this. But as a result the waste being reigned in will be better for Americans as a whole. It'll be better for humanity as a whole.

If it is the exact same way of handling it, I wouldn’t approve. Same if it were my mother, my father, Democrat, Independent, small business owner, etc. because the mismanagement is the critique.
You can be Conservative and say, “I like this but this seems a bit much” and you would be entitled to your opinion just as I’m entitled to this opinion.

Also just so we are clear, poor people can be more intelligent than rich folk and vice versa. Rich doesn’t mean smarter, it just means you put more thought to your wallet and what makes you money not really actually fixing things. The more rich you are, the more true this statement becomes.
