You don't need to inform them. They learn about death, at any age, when someone they know dies. Grandma or Grandpa, for example. Or when their pet hamster dies.

I think they just find out on their own. It's just part of life. It happens every single day (unless death takes a holiday) and they WILL eventually be exposed to it.
