Thursday 8th of May is the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. The French have a National holiday but us in the UK don’t. What are your thoughts?

Many significant events in our nation's history are not commemorated by national holidays. The Glorious Revolution, which is regarded as more significant in British history than the day we defeated the Nazis, is one example.

My father was a WW2 vet. If he was still alive he would be 102 years old.
