1 yransgender people should be able to use public restrooms that align with their gender identity. This aligns with the understanding that gender identity is an individual's internal sense of being male, female, or another gender, and is not determined solely by physical characteristics. Supporting transgender individuals in accessing restrooms consistent with their gender identity is crucial for their well-being and safety.
Elaboration:
Safety and Privacy:
Transgender individuals face increased risks and discrimination when forced to use restrooms that do not align with their gender identity. This can lead to harassment, violence, and psychological distress.
Gender Identity:
The term "transgender" refers to individuals whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. It's an internal sense of being male, female, or another gender, and it's not a choice or a medical condition.
Non-Binary Individuals:
Non-binary individuals, who do not identify as exclusively male or female, also deserve access to restrooms that are safe and comfortable for them. This may include gender-neutral restrooms or individual restrooms.
No Evidence of Increased Risk:
There is no evidence that allowing transgender people access to restrooms that align with their gender identity jeopardizes safety or privacy for others. In fact, studies show that transgender people are more likely to be victims of violence.
Essential Part of Transition:
Access to appropriate restrooms is an essential part of the gender transition process, according to medical professionals.
Discrimination:
Requiring transgender individuals to use restrooms that don't align with their gender identity is a form of discrimination.
Basic Human Right:
Everyone deserves to have their basic human rights, including the right to privacy and dignity, respected.
Legal Protections:
Many states and cities have non-discrimination laws that protect gender identity in public accommodations, effectively allowing transgender people to use restrooms that align with their gender identity. Most people have shared a public bathroom with a trans person, even if they didn't know it. It is simply common sense for trans people to use the bathroom that best matches their identity. Everyone deserves to take care of their body in safety and privacy.

1 yI honestly find it disgusting that it's allowed. Just the same way that men should not be allowed to compete in women's sports and women should not be allowed to compete in men's sports, men should not be allowed to go into women's washrooms, and women should not be allowed to go into men's washrooms. Washrooms are a safe place for a specific sex.
Just because you call yourself something doesn't make you whatever that is. If you believe you're a dog, it doesn't make you a dog. Biologically, you're a human and should be treated as such. You should not be allowed to go to a veterinarian hospital and be treated as a dog. If anything, you should be sent to an asylum to get treated as mentally ill. The same goes for gender dysphoria and transgenderism. People will those conditions have mental illness.
The thing that makes the most sense to me is having an extra bathroom specifically for those people, so everyone feels comfortable in their spaces. Just like in sports, they should compete with themselves and not people who are completely natural.61 Reply- 1 y
I agree 100% the maximum I'd go is just have that extra bathroom for those people rather then let them enter into whatever they think they belong to

1 yI’m pretty sure everyone fighting against “trans women in bathrooms” think ONLY trans women exist. They don’t think about a very obviously masc-presenting trans man now being forced to go to a bathroom full of fem-presenting women. They wanted to prevent men in the women’s bathrooms, now it’s guaranteed that there will be men in the women’s bathrooms.
Trans rights are human rights. Watch them come after women and black men once they have their “victories” over the queer community.110 Reply- 1 y
With all due respect I don't see why women would object to sharing a rest room with other biological females.
- 1 y
@cupcakethedestroyer the issue is men rape women, and unfortunately for the trans community a very large portion of trans women, transition because it's a sexual fetish. So you are fighting for the right for men that have a sexual fetish access to womens safe spaces.. that seems stupid.
As far as trans men, nobody cares about a trans man going into the men's room because a trans man is not capable of rapping a man. - 1 y
@David318578 uhh men do get taped by women. It just never makes it in the news
- 1 y
@blackeagle007 women can not force a man into sex, now can they go after a younger boy? Sure it can happen, but that kind of rape would never happen in a bathroom, and would never happen with a trans man.
All of you lack a serious amount of empathy and critical thinking skills
- 1 y
@David318578 imagine one group of women, tied down a guy to a bed. And you know what happens next. Also, a woman can force a guy, threatening him with a weapon to have sex with her. That does happen. The police never take it seriously because our justice system favors women.
- 1 y
@blackeagle007 your example of a bunch of women tying up a man is absurd, first he would have to be hard, second we have having a conversation about bathroom SA, your bdsm fantasy would never happen in reality.
Can women groom someone? Sure, but that's not going to happen in a restroom, that's from a teacher, or coach, babysitter etc.. not some stranger in the bathroom.
- 1 y
I have empathy for my niece who was SA in the women's locker room. That's my empathy, not some man wanting to cosplay as a woman.
SA towards women happen about once every min or so in the US. Making it easier for this to happen all to cater to someone's fantasy is a complete lack of critical thinking. - 1 y
@blackeagle007 Come on, man... Is the mass hypnosis wearing off or were Your recent anti-right wing takes some over-the-top trolling? Or is it just another case of "oh, we can agree of something even if we do not agree politically"? I mean, I absolutely love the fact that You pointed out that women can actually rape men, and that the justice system favours women, which is why such cases do not really make the news.

1 yAlibi is a scary song. It’s sometimes so hard to find a man because he’s been with a naturally transgender soul

Maybe he was kissing the eyes of the green-eyed tranny who killed him for wanting a straight woman. He has been kissing the ground of someone’s mortuary and stays drunk on the tranny’s wine instead of being close to me.

Men aren’t animals by default contrary to popular belief.
As for trans rights: I don’t think transitioning strips away any of someone’s rights so I don’t think it’s something that needs attention
Especially when attention is more often than not the main reason they do anything at all
What I would never approve of is trans people asking for privileges that other people don’t have. But I wouldn’t approve of that for anybody else either.
It’s not personal
The only aspect where my view is anti trans specifically is when it comes to sports
There is not a single argument anyone can make to convince me that man hospitalizing a woman in an MMA fight is somehow fair game
And I know many women have defended the situation and said that they could beat the guys on merits and don’t mind the extra challenge.
Scoreboard shows the guys are still far too dominant at any sport for this to be an argument20 Reply
1 yYes, I’d walk out and find another. Generally though I avoid using public ones if I can.
Disabled toilets didn’t always exist and were brought in, now they’re almost everywhere in western society.
I feel should do the same with trans toilets, alleviates any safety issue women have or male relatives of women have, and protects trans-men and trans-women safety as well. Since they could be at any stage of transition it’s probably best their own group with individual spaces but honestly it’s for them to decide their space, but must let go of demanding to be in others spaces (feminists could learn a lesson here and let men have some men-only spaces for mental health instead of barging in everyone).
Likewise those “It doesn’t bother me so I don’t care” types, you need to be able to think beyond yourself and your life experiences thus far and think of others safety and comfort.
This is the only logical and fair compromise for all going forward and I despair society is so slow to understand this.

1 yI'm in the USA. I find the term Transgender "rights" to be absolutely ridiculous.
As a citizen of the USA they already have the same rights EVERYONE has.
A man saying I'm a woman and taking hormones and demanding to play on girls only sports teams or changing clothes with them in their locker room is not a right. It is an infringement on the women's rights.
They have all the same rights, right to vote, housing, jobs, right to change their name, healthcare... etc.
It is a false flag, a lie, to claim they are lacking "rights". They have the same rights.

1 yI honestly don't care. Do you know how many times I've encountered this scenario in my lifetime? Zero. Would it be strange if I did encounter it? Yup. Does it make any real difference to me? No. I separate a natural bodily function like eliminating liquid and solid waste from sexuality. Do your thing. Leave. Do not try to use a public restroom as your hookup place. And especially do NOT approach me with that in mind. Do that, and we're good. Fail to take that advice and you may not walk out of that bathroom.
20 Reply I think that everyone should do as they please. Surely it's none of my business how someone wants to dress or behave.
That being said, if you're born as a man, I think you should use the men's toilets. Likewise, if you're born as a woman, you should use the women's toilets. In this particular scenario, it's not about transgender rights, it's about the transgender person being respectful towards the other users of the toilet. Is a transgender man going to unzip his pants or dress in a women's restroom?
20 Reply5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. So-called "trans-gender" people should be identified by their biological sex. If they can't deal with that, too bad.
Trans-sexuality is a recent social construct that has been promoted. I think it should be stigmatized so as to make it feel like an undesirable decision.40 Reply- 8.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yIf they're transgender, they aren't IDENTIFYING as anything. They ARE their gender. Or, at least, are on the way to BECOMING their gender.
It wouldn't bother me at all no matter who or what they are. If they were born female and NOT transitioning, I'd have no problem with her being there. So, why would I mind of a transexual going either way was in there with me? People GOTTA shit and pee!!
Besides, how's she gonna rape me?
If we're talking about a transitioning guy in a women's room, he's NOT interested in even HAVING his dick, let alone USING IT on some woman in a bathroom or locker room!!10 Reply 5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I've never seen anyone else's genitalia in a public toilet. It really doesn't affect anybody.
If anything, insisting that trans men use women's bathrooms makes it easier for cis men to go into them, even if they've got a beard.
On a related note, and QFT: "You don’t have to be that gung-ho on trans rights to realize that a world where girls’ genitals need to be inspected before they can play any sport is worse for girls than a world where once in a while there’s a trans girl on a girls’ team." Evan Urquhart
In my experience women use the stalls in men's toilets in clubs all the time because there's usually a massive queue for the ladies'. (That might be dated, I don't go to clubs any more.)

1 yIt's not a problem. People are people. If one forces their ideals or beliefs onto other people, and causes harm that is when the line is drawn. Trans people just want to exist and life their lives like everyone else, without being assulted, verally harrassed, or lynched. The bathroom this has never been a problem.
The ones you really have to look out for, are the uber religious people yelling that other people who don't live to their ideals & beliefs are a threat, because those kind of monotheistic fear mongers have been proven time & time again, to be the ones going after children and sexually assulting women.10 Reply - 853 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
m 1 yEasy to solve, it's a non-issue to me because I don't even see a legitimate reason to have gendered restrooms, it's just plain and simple toilets, no one gets naked in there, so how could it be offensive to blend genders and trans?

1 yWell, well, well, it seems like the woke mob is at it again, trying to push their radical agenda onto unsuspecting Americans. Let me tell you, it's not rocket science. If a person is male, they should use the men's restroom, and if they're female, the ladies' room. What a shame that Donald J Trump even has to waste his time explaining things like this to you people. Americans have better things to think about. Move on.
22 Reply- 1 y

1 yYou have only males and females, period. It is a free country and people are allowed to pretend, but it crosses the line when it violates the privacy and safety of others.
Men shall not play in women's sports. Biological men should not be in the same restroom or locker room as a woman. If a biological man pretending to be a woman were to be present in the same restroom as my daughter or wife, I will go apeshit.
10 ReplyMy view is people are born male and female and they should stay in their gender, and make the most of what they've been given.
Being male I'm used to there being very little privacy when going to the toilet, and I would not be worried if the person next to me is male or female.
10 Reply6.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't support transgenderism I see it for what it is a mental illness.
and my question for those that do support it is if you had a daughter who was a little girl would you honestly feel comfortable with her being in a bathroom alone with older man dressed like a woman? Or even just one that dressed normally but said they were a woman?
20 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nearly all public toilets here are mixed so it's not an issue. Most of them tend to be cubicle type with locking FULL length door so it's unlikely to be an issue.
Back in my youth at clubs and things it wasn't a thing when the ladies was queued up and girls would barge in to the guys cubicles and do their thing.20 Reply
1 yThank you , i had a relationship with a beautiful trans woman in college , she used the ladies room and as far as i know , it went un noticed. If there's a unisex bathroom available wonderful, but if not and they don't call attention to themselves then get past it or work for a unisex toilet requirement.
There are places as a cd i wouldn't want to walk into the mensroom Ina miniskirt and heels, and before anyone says it that's not an opinion ion i require you to. make for me.10 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Emotionally, I might feel uncomfortable, but I'm not sure. I might just roll my eyes. But in terms of the supposed rights, that's not a right at all. That's a special privilege. Transgenderism is a mental disorder and needs to be treated from that perspective. Anything else is doing a disservice to them by treating them as a political tool instead of a person with individual needs.

1 yIn my simplifying world I believe that peeing and pooping is a human right.
One that's not tied to a person's gender (real, or imagined).
Personally, I use toilets to pee or to poop - not so much to inspect other persons around. I am comfortable with and in myself. The digestion process of others will not change this :)
10 Reply 662 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, it would not make me uncomfortable. We are all going there to relieve ourselves. No one that I know, leaves their toilet stall open for all to see. What you are is a matter between you and yourself, and is no one else's business.

Now if a man fully transitioned, as in he doesn't have a dick anymore, then I would be ok with him legally being able to access womens restrooms/locker rooms.
20 Reply 1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Well, no matter what you identify as, you're still a man or a woman. And if you're not in your own toilets, you need to leave.
