11 moAllow me first to state that every sincere opinion can actually be expressed in a civilized way, without useless fuss, shouts and insults.
Yes, although within certain clear and logic limits, one should be given freedom of speech. These limits are rather obvious for people of good will. An example NOT to follow are for instance hate talks, hoaxes, spreading false informations, etc. When emitting an opinion, one should be aware of one's responsibility and of possible consequences.
On the practical side, I fear this question never to be resolved, because of the interpretation of what it really means to have the freedom of speech, and because of so many manipulators abusing of that freedom. The medias in general are a perfect example for as well the good as the worst side of this so-called freedom...

1 yAs a supporter of The First Amendment which covers those in the jurisdiction of The United States of America the following freedoms: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, and Freedom of Press also The Right to Assemble Peacefully.
No one shall take away your rights, know that they are endowed by your creator and The Federal Govt (Congress) can’t pass legislation to limit The First Amendment, not now and not ever!

1 yNo. Free speech was once about getting ideas out in the open so they could be discussed and discarded. Nowadays it's only about spreading hate, lies, and misinformation. Where once we listened to educated men debate ideas they're now drowned out by the screams of imbiciles in a world where volume and quantity rules supreme.

1 yNowadays people don’t even know what freedom of speech is. They go on a racist rant on social media and get their account banned and then cry about how they are unfairly targeted and their first amendment is being violated. Or they call little kids slurs and then cry when they are video taped and get doxxed. Freedom or speech means the government can’t kill you or arrest you for what you say. What these people really want is freedom of consequences.
40 Reply 11.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yeap but not freedom from consequences. If you say (insert woman) should be raped, that's your right to say. But that doesn't make you immune to my fist breaking your teeth as a result.

I mean why limit it to speech?
I should be able to type or write whatever I want too.
I should be able to express myself freely through arson or violence also.
I should legally be allowed to totally knife an idiot to death if I determine that their existence is a liability.13 Reply5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Unpopular opinion it's a bit over rated. You shouldn't go to jail sure but there has to be some civil or reputation consequences for being a jackass.
10 Reply5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The right want forced listening, not free speech. No, your speech shouldn't be curtailed, but its reach can be. Nobody owes you a megaphone, let alone one that reaches a billion "ears".

Freedom of speech doesn’t come with terms and conditions. The only condition is that it isn’t a call to actual violence. I can say anything I like even if it upsets you, makes you uncomfortable or makes you sad….. your feelings cannot limit my speech.
The saying is that you can’t scream fire in a crowded movie theater is incorrect. You can if there is a fire…. If there is no fire then that reckless endangerment and you’ll be charged for that, if people were injured or killed you’ll be charged for that too.
