Does anybody else like chivalry as much as I do?

I know that is outdated by some, and the Middle Ages and Renaissance happened a long time ago. I still like a little chivalry though if I am truthful. The older that I get, the more I appreciate it and like it. What do you think? Do you like a little of this? I know that some will say it is just theatrical etc. May be. What do you think?

I don’t like it, but i was trained to put women on a pedestal. Even when they don’t appreciate it. It’s difficult to overcome the kinds of indoctrination that are still held socially acceptable.
As far as simple courtesies like holding the door and waiting my turn to speak, i do that for everyone indiscriminately. It’s not chivalrous in the least. It’s usually accepted with appreciation, and i delight at young people keeping it going. One of the best experiences of my life was watching a little girl running ahead of her family and me to hold the door for everyone. Complete stranger and a total surprise. I had never seen it before and i haven’t seen it since. Lots of little boys have done and still do, but that girl was an anomaly.

Gentrification was just part of where I grew up and just became part of my nature as a kid. Still am. It is far more positively received than not. This is extended to both men and women alike. Equally I am
Grateful when man or woman holds a door open or whatever for me too. Just polite society.

Medieval chivalry is a myth. These Knights oppresed the masses, thought nothing of raping women, or slaughtering peasants. Chivalry only applied amongst themselves.

@Shiprex that's a job and women work those jobs too and more will be because a lot of those jobs ie construction involve less heavy manual labour. About 20% of us armed forces are women. Also how many men do you think are dying in these jobs a year? Not many in western countries but maybe a lot in backward countries like India or pakistan where health and safety along with hygiene is not a thing.

I do like the lady-gentleman game. I enjoy it when my lady goes along with the game by being graceful, elegant, feminine and by being appreciative of my attentiveness. I feel masculine when she makes me feel like her protector.

It's not that women are incapable of doing things like opening doors for themselves. It's just that the game makes a man feel masculine and a lady feel feminine.

I tend to engage in a spot of anti-chivalry, just to spice things up. So I will hold the door closed until the woman asks properly for it to be held open.

My father taught me to be a gentleman. I do not even think about it, it is just something that I do. Over the years I have gotten grief about it but mostly positive feedback.
