Body cams are good for justice on both sides. They often exonerate police and show that the suspect was violent, etc. But they also sometimes document the police breaking the law too. The fact that they are able to hold a lot more people accountable, and we have to rely less on witness statements, is good for everyone.
Is it a perfect system? No, of course not. Police have conveniently "lost" important footage and have forgotten to turn on their cameras, so it can still be abused sometimes, but I think that overall it's been a major positive development. It also shows that there is a whole lot less racism than the popular narrative would suggest. Not zero racism, of course, but nothing close to what certain activists try to get people to believe.
The narratives about "body-cams keep cops accountable" are BS. It took three months for body-cam footage of George Floyd in excited delirium saying "I can't breathe" while he was in the back seat of a police car and begging to be taken out and put on the ground to be released. And by "released", I mean leaked online. Meaning someone didn't want us seeing that footage.
So yeah, I don't believe a single word from the left about accountability in this regard.

Has The Demand For Body Cams Being Worn By Police Officers Backfired Terribly Against The Anti-Cop Crowd?
No, pertaining to those with concerns of police brutality in their communities and The United States of America as a whole. One of the proposals conducted was an open minded approach for a solution known as, body cams.
This isn’t Anti-Cop mentality, this isn’t Green team v. Purple team. This is Americans wanting a safer community to live, thrive, and be treated as a functioning member of society under without threat of police violence against them, their neighbors, etc.
Body cams help reduce these incidents and when these incidents take place, a jury of their peers will be less likely to side with the ‘rouge cop’ who went off script instead of following procedure.
One body cam showcased a woman officer yelling, “taser taser taser” when she pulled out her firearm instead. Another showcased a corrupt officer and his wife clearly intoxicated in a golf cart driving dangerously on the highway/road they were on and the officer got off without a hitch.
Clearly there are terrible incidents caught on body cam that make cops look bad, though I don’t see “Anti-Cop” utilizing it for their endeavors since it seemed to have left the public consciousness.
I believe in bigger better police reform than just “defund the police”, like relocating funds of the police towards new and better training.
TLDR: Body cams are a proposal by those with concerns of police brutality and has kept things generally more peaceful / showcases the struggle cops face everyday, though concerns are still valid to those bad actors. We need to be open minded to supporting our police force while making systemic changes that help the community flourish.
FTP. Can’t stand the cops. I wish the ones where I lived had them with how much of an asshole they can be.
The amount of times I’ve caught cops speeding on my dash cam and for no reason (I also have proof for no reason) tried reporting them and I would either get hung up on or no response to my emails with proof. The police accused me of having something faulty with my speedometer when I actually just bought my car and had two different services done, which I also gave proof for. They got defensive and would hang up lol!
Not to mention had my house broken into, I was alone and it was a huge guy. Cops told me I was just an overreacting girl and no one came in my house. I literally looked at the man who broke my back door open 🙂 not to mention the cop told me my cat opened my door. It was a ball knob and both cats were hiding under my bed because they were scared. I told them it was useless calling them. They had no gun, nothing. It’s also illegal for me to have a taser or pepper spray.
Oh or how about my friend whose car got green stickered because apparently his car was 90mm off the ground when it was actually 150mm. Now my friend has to pay to prove his car is legal when it literally is All because the cop was jealous, my friend has a sick car and he has a shitty Skoda.
List can go on and on.

Body cameras have been a two-edged sword. In some cases they have shown police misconduct, and at others they have shown the officer using reasonable force, de-escalating when possible, and showing restraint when attacked. So My answer is "Other" because body cams have shown good and bad of all sides.
There have been times when the protocols have not been followed. "Forgetting" to turn the camera on, covering it during sensitive moments, and otherwise tampering with the video feed. Those case are getting a little less frequent, from what I've seen. Besides, with everyone having a cell phone camera these days, and knowing how to use it, many other perspectives are also being shown, recorded and stored.
not really because now if 1 out of 300 officers does something stupid they come in screaming see see I told you cops are horrible they are bad for society get rid of them all and everyone follows when the reality is its not the cops that are bad its a select few individuals who do these things and the rest of the people on the force pay the price for it and it is not helped when the force ditches a bunch of cops in court simply cause they dont want to look bad at the expense of an honest hardworking cop
Not at all. Have you noticed how everything lately is viewed the way we perceive magic? For those who believe, no evidence is necessary. For those who don’t, no evidence is adequate.
People flat out refuse to acknowledge video evidence that defies their preconceived beliefs, or declare it as altered or faked.
When it is accepted, it hurts cops nearly as often as it hurts the accused.
It's civilians who need to quit being asshats when it comes to police and the covenant between citizens and the social agreement that police are there to uphold the law and thus expect cooperation. IF they fuck up then it's dealt with BUT not before. Don't be a twat and give them your ID whether you're involved or not.
Here's the thing. The police get a lot of training about how to behave when wearing a cam, the cam is there to protect them not you. When you behave like a twat and he's just standing there he's not doing nothing, he's gathering evidence and waiting for you to go just that little too far.
I think it's important we live a modern technological world where cops, in all modern countries, wear body cameras, padding, armour, microphones, earpieces, GPS tracking in real time , the cop of the future is the modern law officer 🤠🥳
Despite the police trying to cherry-pick what does or doesn't get shown to the public as suits their own needs... more evidence isn't generally a bad thing.
It just has to be made more readily available to the public... and more resistant to selective editing.
the typical anti cop crownd are antifa people. left wing extremists who want the monopoly for violence abolished. because their arguments aren't good enough so they wanna convince people by beating them up.
You’re a maga moron supporter
@haover maga stormed capital. Proud of yourself? People who did that lost their jobs 😆😆😆😆😆
@blackeagle007 the world isn't black or white. Being anti antifa doesn't mean I'm a trumpist
Why is it so foreign to people to have a balanced and nuanced opinion?
No, the body cams are there to create a factual record of interactions and behaviors on both sides. To the extent the cams don't get turned off at crucial moments, they are actually doing that. Let the justice fall where it may.
I'm pretty sure body cam of the cop who shoot at Australian TV reporter was instantly deleted and declared as damaged. Most cops are criminal scum.
Body cams have disciplined police and benefitted by protecting them from Karen and Kayden's allegations..
Another question, have body cams meant cops don't do evil shit now that they know someone's watching?
Nah its often evidence working in their favour.
Though the acorn episode will go down in history.
It should but if there's a public outcry and politics and accusations of racism are involved evidence can held inadmissible in court. That's why you see a lot of cops just phoning it in.
The people wanted documented accountability and got it. I’m not sure how that goes against the anti-police crowd.
Body cams are good because the result is less criminal behavior by the police.
I blew a young cops socks off a couple weeks ago fact checking him on one. Then reported him. Cameras are great.
Let's just put it this way... The anti-cop morons think that doorbell cameras are racist.😂😂😭😭😭
doesn't matter. They should be mandatory regardless
There's no anti-cop crowd. They're against cops being unnecessarily violent. The body cams have been beneficial to decreasing that.
No, it just lends to greater cop accountability.
I do think so. Great post!
yes it has. It's shown how horrible people are.
No it's provided more proof of ACAB
I can’t see how 🤷♂️
I think so.
