Now I think think there's multiple reasons why that may be, social media, the rise in misogyny, the number of guys expecting weird shit, more cctv cameras etc. Yes, we do have hook up websites but it's risky meeting a complete stranger for sex. Girls don't like creepy guys approaching them for sex in bars, and guys can spend a fortune on drinks only for the girl to walk away.

I believe what is needed is places you can go to knowing people are only there for sex and I believe these places should offer safe spaces where you can go and do it. In these safe spaces I'd include a panic alarm and video recording that would be deleted afterwards unless an issue arose. I also believe the government should fund these places to help people's mental wellbeing.

I think there are much better uses of government money personally.

But also like, the video thing could easily be a problem in our society and most people would not be cool with it to begin with for privacy reasons.

And in general, I'm not sure how much safer or better this would actually make things. Like, you're still dealing with the same people, preferences, etc. It's still meeting random strangers for sex. You may still show up and have trouble finding an interested partner, find someone who has preferences or beliefs you aren't prepared for, etc.

And the majority of sexual violence occurs between friends or partners, not strangers, so the panic button thing probably wouldn't have as much affect on preventing violence as one might hope.

Basically, I get the idea, but it's just too flawed and inefficient at solving any real problems to justify.

I'm all for the government supporting the wellbeing of its people, but I think the focus should be real mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc) and their causes (poverty, lack of community, health issues, working environments, etc), not enabling horny young people lol.

Too much Xtianity and anti-sex vibe in America for THAT to happen. They can't even manage to have enough programs for safe needle usage, which costs almost nothing.

If prostitution were legalized and the government got a piece of that action and required licensing and checkups for the purveyors, that would go a long way to this ALMOST being sex sanctioning by the state. They ve done it in Denmark.

It's sort of like having legal pot. Make it government controlled, gov gets its cut, and clean it up. Also make it affordable. Why go to street dealers, illegal sex workers when you know you can have clean, safe sex/pot at sanctioned places.

But meeting up with strangers is problematic. Where is this stranger from? Do they have STDs? I think the only way is to legalize prostitution and have all sexworkers tested weekly and all clients must be tested before engaging in sex with sexworkers. Everybody has a clean bill of health card.

It would be VERY complicated unless they had a Board of Sexual Services with sexworkers and advertisers and communications specialists and industry pundits involved.

If you're using man made artificial and unnatural methods to "explore" your sexuality, then expect another human to replicate that otherwise THEY'RE the problem, then self reflection and a little bit of mind adjustment are needed.

They do have safe places, they are called cat houses. It may be a bit more expensive than your normal date, but if sex is what you are most interested in, well, like a sore dick, you can't beat it. Also, what makes you think that if someone ever runs for office and they used one of these in the past that it can't be used as some kind of political blackmail leverage tool against them? Nope. Less government is generally better. If we don’t want the government involved with our sex lives (who, what, where, why, when and how) then they have absolutely no responsibility to provide any of those things for our benefit. Especially at the expense of taxpayers who wholly disagree with the principle.

We have those in Japan. They are called "Love Hotels". They are on almost every block in Tokyo and other cities. Each one has a privacy entrance. They offer themed rooms that cater to every fantasy or fetish. The prices are reasonable. You can stay all night, but the rooms are usually for 2 or 3 hour "rest" 😏 These hotels are very safe, too!
