I didn’t believe it at first.

Late Night kept people up to date with news with jokes , lighthearted conversations in form of interviews , and a well talented crew so I’ll miss it.

I won’t comment on what it could pertain to, though I will say they better have a host with a new show that is a good replacement for the high standard set.

First it was David Letterman (20+ years) then Stephan Colbert (10+ years) so, I wonder what the next generation’s comedy late night talk host will be. Because it will be pretty big shoes to fill.
I love old Jay Leno clips I see and Conan O’ Brien, also Trevor Noah was a delight, like Jon Stewart too.

And don’t tell me there won’t be a replacement because the show must go on.

did you know that npr and pbs are getting their funding cut as well? it makes sense. wittle down the truth to what you say it is and they have no choice but to take action.

i love colbert and jon stewart. they are very smart guys that tell the truth a good portion of the time. if it's not favorable to their agenda they graze over it and become the comedian. it's very political in its own way to report on headlines that you don't like or see the hypocrisy of. they better cancel 'The View' too if this is targeted.

I wasn’t sure if that was true or not when I saw Colbert saying that on a video clip. So I am guessing CBS is being pressured by Trump, who is getting rid of public broadcasting stations too. Next, it will be Jimmy Kimmel and then Jimmy Fallon. Just like a dictator, king, authoritarian, whatever you want to call it.

The country hopefully will recover these things once he is gone from office, assassinated, dies from his bad eating habits, or there is a civil war again.

I heard that. I don’t care. Wholly biased programming everywhere should be canceled. It’s just feeding tribalism and willful ignorance.
It’s a comedy show. There’s plenty of material coming from both sides. When you praise the ignorance of one side and condemn it for the other, even when you frame it as a “joke”, you’re no longer in the entertainment business. You’re in the propaganda business.

CBS will be bought by Skydance Media. That CEO is a big supporter of Trump so yeah probably its one of the reasons why Stephen Colbert gets off the air. Now, are you gonna pretend you would not do the same. You are telling me you would pay millions of dollars to a tv program that talk shit about you all the time? I dont know - maybe you like sadomasochism.

The other reason is the show does not make profit. So its a bad business

I agree with Mr. Wonderful, it being cancelled was not about Trump and about the late show losing money. The viewership for late night talk shows isn't what it used to be, and the viewership is only going to get lower.
