Of course it is. But when people hear the word “selfish”, they think it’s a bad thing. Being selfish can be good or bad depending on context. Suicide is inherently selfish because the person wants to end their own pain and suffering, the whole thing is about themselves and how they feel. They’re not ending their life for someone else, they’re ending it for themself, which makes it inherently selfish but that doesn’t make it “wrong” or “bad”.
No, it isn’t. Someone who has committed suicide wanted to end his or her misery and felt that there was no other way. Of course, the family and friends are left heartbroken and confused forever, but the deceased person felt utterly helpless and hopeless. This is why knowing the signs that someone is suicidal, especially the seemingly non related ones, are so important.

i dont think so. and even if it was, the act of wanting to keep a person suffering alive to keep you happy also would be. usually when people commit suicide it's either an impulse in the moment (where you're not really thinking about the consequences) or it's a very thought out action were you've definitely considered the impact on your loved ones and despite that decided that dying is the only answer. a lot of those people try to make the grieving process as simple as they can for their family, by preparing everything for them. they also often try to convince themselves everything will be okay for them or even that they're loved ones dont really love them that much so they dont need to worry
This is complicated. Suicide passes the pain to the living and magnifies it by a billion times. The people that commit suicide are severely ill and see it as the only way forward. So, what would you suggest we do for the sick people? Remember that any service has to be paid for and this country is 36++Trillion in debt.
I think people who say that have never been suicidal.
I get what they are saying, but someone who is suicidal is in a LOT of pain.
I understand that, but at the same time “selfish” here means “catering to only one person.” Suicide holds no objective benefits for anyone but the person seeking release. And even then, very few people who commit suicide do so twice after one failed attempt.
Yes, but that percentage of multiple attempts is very small because people usually find reasons to live again after realizing how much worse they would make their loved ones’ lives by dying on purpose. It would have the opposite effect of what was intended in their selfish self-sacrifice no one asked for
no suicide genes probably even exist, because populations evolve as a unit, there are likely genes for individuals to get rid of themselves if they feel isolated, rejected, useless, etc. Nowadays those types of people just become sociopaths
I once saw a sheep in a flock that had just given up. When they were all shoving each other to get to the food, it just stood by itself, not even trying. When you tried to feed it, it didn't eat.
It's one of the most depressing/frightening things I have ever experienced. This sheep had just fucking given up on life.
Absolutely not. That is like saying all abortion is the same.
There is no good reason for suicide
It's a logical choice
